Ahhh, it is time for some more shots from the beautiful blue water in Greece. I have learned a bit over the last couple of months about the timing from when shots are beautiful to be made of course. We all know sunset and sunrise are best from shots and glimmer. But also in the middle of the days when the sun is super high it is also doable to fly and make some shots. It is challenging though not to get a glare in your shots. A shimmer of sunlight, and I must admit..mountains help in there.
What I have enjoyed most about flying the drone is the fact that you have to have full focus by the time that you are working it, and you don’t have a lot of time for other stuff. Whether you are doing something active, or playing a musical instrument or flying a drone. Getting the focus in there is one of the cool reasons to get it all going.
Another thing to realize about droning and water is that sometimes the sensor gets the altitude wrong and also the reflection of the water tends to mess up the sense of height for a drone. This is one of the reasons why the previous drone took a dive into the deep ending up in nomansland, because it was puzzled by the actual height and it started a landing sequence at a location where it is not possible.
But keeping a decent altitude in this bay of Agios Nikitas felt like a reasonable thing to do also because there were some boats there, as well as that you don’t want to annoy people chilling on the beach or on their boat. This was actually the first flight abroad from this DJI mini 3 so yeah,...there was stress for sure haha.
But it also gives some cool shots and I must admit I also used it to take a peek over the mountain to see if there was a thunderstorm forming in the distance. See, drones are useful for everything right? I was very pleased with the first flight in Greece of this drone actually, and the DJI mini 3 felt entirely natural again on how it works. Good vibes!
Yes, I am experimenting with some affiliate marketing so when you buy something on Amazon like the DJI drone with these links, I might get something out of it.
