Everybody knows the deal when going on a nice weekender and when it starts to rain. What the hell on earth do you do when there is nothing to do outdoors?
When in Lissabon, stop looking. It's is time to enjoy the local specialties in a food court that literally has something for everybody. Welcome to the Time Out Market!
You all know the definition of a food court, right? Multiple small restaurants with a central part together where everybody gets their small bites and just enjoys having a good time with each other. I really wanted to go for a sea food bonanza, so I literally tried a ton of small dishes from the sea. Indeed, these where a bit of the more fancier ones, but there were also tons of choices of more simpler dishes that I would totally choose if I would have over there say for instance with some colleagues after work.
Monkfish, Salmon tartar and Sashimi were just some of the fine dishes that ended up on my plate. And almost at everybody food stand also wines were sold, with also good advice on what to choose with every dish, something that I really liked.
I was very surprised by the amount of people that were in this food court already so early in the afternoon. I reached here around noon and already had great difficulties finding a spot to sit, and this even got a lot worse in the hours after. My advice to go here would totally be, go as early as you can. And if you reach in the late afternoon, be prepared that you might not end up with a seat that you would want.
But with these fine dishes awaiting you, don't you think the Time Out Market in Lissabon is totally worth the hunt and of the effort of getting there? Honestly, in my next Lissabon visit, which will surely be soon, I will totally come back here for a sequel snack attack of food tasting.!
Just take my word on this one, go there and you will not regret it!
