Greetings again. Today, after some days I returned to draw with pastel plaster. The truth is that I like this technique very much, but I have noticed something not very pleasant in the material I have and is that some plasters are like crystallized. That is to say, they are very hard and when I slide them on the paper they leave a mark like a pencil without ink. I have tried to split the plasters in half, also scraping them with a scissors and I can't get rid of that hard part.

La verdad es que me agrada mucho está técnica, pero he notado algo no muy grato en el material que tengo y es que algunos yesos están como cristalizados. Es decir, son muy duros y al deslizarlos por el papel dejan una marca como de lápiz sin tinta. He intentado partir los yesos a la mitad, también raspando con una tijera y no consigo deshacerme de esa parte dura.

For now, I have to stick with the material I have. I can't wait to buy a new palette with lots of colors. Now let's look at the process of making my drawing for today. It is a tiger. I know I didn't get it to look like a beast, it looks almost tender, but I hope you like it.

Por ahora, tengo que seguir con el material que tengo. No veo la hora de comprar una paleta nueva con muchos colores. Ahora veamos el proceso de elaboración de mi dibujo de hoy. Se trata de un tigre. Se que no conseguí que se viera como una fiera, se ve casi tierno, pero espero que les guste.

First I did a pencil sketch. I always make very thin lines so I don't have to erase them when I apply the color, but rather hide them.

Primero hice un boceto a lápiz. Siempre hago líneas muy delgadas para no tener que borrar cuando aplique el color, sino más bien disimularlas.

I applied beige and orange colors. I scraped the orange color with the scissors to help me distribute the color without hurting the paper because of the above. With the blending brush I continued to apply color and then shook off the excess with a brush.

Apliqué colores beige y naranja. El color naranja lo raspé con la tijera para ayudarme a distribuir el color sin lastimar el papel debido a lo antes expuesto. Con el pincel difuminador seguí aplicando color y luego sacudí el excedente con una brocha.

In the next step, I applied brown color working a little more on the definition of the inner lines. The outline of this feline is a bit complex because it has a velvety texture due to the fur. They are not defined lines, and not at all precise, even trying to explain it is a bit difficult. I applied green color on the eyes and a bit of brown on the contour of the eyes.

En el siguiente paso, apliqué color marrón trabajando un poco más en la definición de las líneas internas. El contorno de este felino es un poco complejo porque tiene una textura aterciopelada por el pelaje. No son líneas definidas, y para nada precisas, aún intentar explicarlo es algo difícil. Apliqué color verde en los ojos y un poco de marrón en el contorno de los mismos.

By the time I applied the black color, I was feeling a little tired, but I wanted to see the finished work, because a tiger is not a tiger until he gets the rats. I applied touches of black on one side of the face and then tried to follow the pattern on the other side. I applied dots and stripes that I then deepened with the precision brush.

Al momento de aplicar el color negro, ya me sentía un poco cansada, pero quería ver el trabajo terminado, es que un tigre no es tigre hasta que se le ponen las ratas. Apliqué toques de negro de todo un lado de la cara para luego intentar seguir el patrón del otro lado. Fui aplicando puntos y rayas que después profundicé con la brocha de precisión.

I finished this beautiful kitten. The truth is that it inspires me a lot of tenderness. So far I had not drawn a tiger. Once I did a watercolor painting of a sphinx cat and I didn't have any problem to make the fur, because a sphinx cat has no fur; good for me. However, every time I find myself with a limitation like the fur, what I want most is to be able to master it. Too bad that for now I have to go very easy on everything due to my health condition.

Ya terminé este hermoso gatito. La verdad es que a mí me inspira mucha ternura. Hasta el momento no había dibujado un tigre. En una ocasión hice una pintura en acuarela de un gato esfinge y no tuve complicación para realizar el pelaje, pues en gato esfinge carece de pelo; bien por mi. Sin embargo, cada vez que me encuentro con una limitación como la del pelaje, lo que más quiero es poder dominarlo. Lastima que por ahora tengo que ir con mucha calma en todo debido a mi condición de salud.
