I ordered pizza today.Just for me.
No group,no plan,no waiting.Just me,my room and a full box sitting on the table. The cheese is melted, the chicken looks perfect and the smell alone made the whole day feel lighter.
I have been busy lately.House job, documents, hospital runs. Some days are just nonstop. So today I decided to celebrate something small in my own way.Because small things deserve attention too.
I am a lively person. I talk a lot,I laugh loud,I am always moving. But even a lively person need quiet.Even lively peeps need a night where the only decision is which slice to eat first.
This is not sadness. This is not loneliness. This is me choosing me. People always wait for big occasions to celebrate.A promotion,a birthday,a big win.But what about the days you just made it through? What about the days you handled everything and still had energy to smile?
That is worth a pizza.
I opened the box and it felt like a reward. No sharing. No cutting it into tiny pieces for everyone else.Just one whole pizza for one whole person who worked hard this week.
I put on music.I put my phone on silent.I took my time with the first bite. The cheese pulled, the crust was crisp and for a few minutes nothing else mattered.
Therapy comes in slices. Sometimes it is a walk.Sometimes it is sleep.Today it is pizza and peace.
Tomorrow there will be more work.More patients.More forms. But tonight belongs to me.
So here I am. Alone, happy and full.Celebrating the small things in my own way.
And honestly,that feels really good.
