I went on a 3 day trip and it was exactly what I needed. No big plan,no fancy itinerary, just me leaving everything behind for a little while.I stayed in Fiora Hotel and honestly that place set the whole mood for the trip.
The first thing I noticed when I reached was the weather.Clouds were everywhere. Not the kind you see from far away in the sky. These clouds were right there, low, touching the hills, touching the buildings, touching the road.It felt like walking inside a cloud instead of under it.Everything was soft and grey and quiet. The air had that fresh smell after rain.Cold, clean,a little bit earthy.
Fiora Hotel was cozy. The rooms were simple but comfortable and the view from the window was the main thing. You could sit there for hours and just watch the fog roll in and out.Sometimes you could not see anything at all, just white. Then ten minutes later the clouds would move and you could see the road, the trees, the cars again. It was like the place could not decide if it wanted to hide or show itself.
I spent a lot of time just walking around. The roads were wet the whole time and that was the best part.Wet roads have their own kind of beauty. The asphalt was dark and shiny and it reflected everything.Street lights, car headlights, signs, trees.Everything looked doubled. When cars drove past, the tires made that soft sound on the wet road and water splashed a little.People walked slowly with umbrellas.Bikes moved carefully. No one was rushing. The rain made everything slow down.
At night it was even better. The clouds were still there but now there were lights. The wet road looked like a mirror. The hills disappeared into fog and all you could see were little spots of light from houses and shops. It was quiet. No loud music,no crowd noise.Just the sound of water dripping from roofs.
Three days is not long but it felt long in a good way.I slept well,I ate hot food,I drank chai while looking at the fog.I did not check my phone much.I did not take a hundred pictures.I just stood and watched the clouds move over the wet roads.
Fiora Hotel was a good base for that.It was warm inside while everything outside was damp and cool.In the morning I would open the window and let the cold air in.The clouds would be sitting right outside like they were waiting.
I came back feeling reset.Sometimes you do not need a big vacation. You just need clouds, wet roads and three days where no one is asking anything from you. That was this trip.
