After my mbbs final year professional exams ended on 1st January, 2026. There was another exam on Basic life support aka BLS and ATLS. Getting the certificate was necessary for house-job documentation in PIMS hospital Islamabad. So on 15th of January, I cleared the test and got my BLS certificate. In the end of January, my result came and I had successfully graduated with distinctions from Federal Medical College that is associated with PIMS hospital in Islamabad.
Next target was to finish 30 days internship as to gain more medical clinical experience in the hospital. I applied in various hospitals and had my job partially done there. Then my convocation came up on April, 2026. It had been a good experience overall. Meanwhile, I also focused on improving my theoretical knowledge by doing various multiple choice questions as on Uworld, passmedicine, NBME, bootcamp and Amboss.
I chose various websites to get much better experience in solving complex scenarios ok daily basis. I had also been taking my time in reading course related books and watching vidoe lectures on YouTube. So far, my interest is to become a Neurosurgeon in future. And I am currently working hard for that.
Till now, I think I am still on the tract I chose for myself and with every passing day, I feel improvement in myself. Mistakes do happen sometimes while practicing In surgery and medicine but that is how we learn. With practice and consistency we get better.
However, the others tasks that still remain to be achieved are definitely untouched since January, 2026. Now it is July, 2026 and I have not been able to learn cooking and have not got my driving licence so far. My IELTS is pending. I am also thinking of going abroad and I am preparing for USMLE step 1. I do not waste my time unnecessarily.
Hive Journey>
Since last year I have joined hive/Ecency as a platform to share my experience and get more connected to the world. I try to participate in challenges despite being in a hectic environment in the hospital all day. I still manage somehow to write and share what’s on my mind whenever I get an opportunity. So stay tuned for more posts in the future from my side.
My Goal>
It may sound somewhat idealistic to modern world. But, my ultimate goal is: to serve humanity. To help the sick patients and get them back on their feet and in their usual state of health is my priority. I have learnt so much in the last five years. Though the duty is hectic but the smiles on the their faces after treatment is heartwarming. All stress just goes away when a surgery we performed becomes a successful. The patients become pain free. These sort of feelings are what I have experienced so far.
Goals for the rest of the year is to keep serving the people as a good doctor and also improving my clinical skills. At the same time, doing researches, participating in camps arranged in rural areas and preparation for USMLE Step 1 is on the go. That’s it.
Hopefully, you understand what I aimed to convey.
