Stepped Into the Salon and Forgot the World for a While
Went to salon for some relaxation and honestly I needed it so badly. The last few weeks had been a mess of deadlines, phone calls and that constant buzzing in my head that never seems to stop.I kept telling myself I would go next week then next week turned into this month. Finally I just booked it and walked in without overthinking.
The moment I pushed the door open, the vibe hit different. It was bright, clean and smelled like fresh towels and something citrusy. The floors were this glossy marble with little mosaic tiles that made the whole place feel expensive without trying too hard. There was a huge plant in a black pot right by the stairs, all green and dramatic like it belonged in a magazine. The staircase had these fancy black railings and wooden steps going up and there was even a gold chair tucked under it that looked like it came from a palace. It was the kind of place that makes you stand up straighter the second you enter.
I checked in and the staff were so calm.No rush,no loud music,no awkward small talk unless I wanted it.That was exactly what I wanted.I told them I just wanted to unwind, nothing fancy, just something to make me feel human again.
First came the head massage.I am not even joking,I almost fell asleep in the chair.Warm oil, slow hands and that quiet hum in the background. All the tension in my shoulders started melting. Then the facial. The steam, the cold gel,the gentle wiping. It felt like someone was literally washing the stress off my face.I kept my eyes closed the whole time and tried to not think about calls or messages.
I also got a quick trim because my ends were looking tired. The stylist did not try to sell me ten products. She just asked what I liked, did her thing and made me feel good about it.
By the time I walked out,the sun was hitting the marble floor just like in the lobby and everything looked softer. My face felt lighter,my hair felt cleaner and my brain was quiet for once.
It was not about looking perfect. It was about sitting still for an hour and letting someone else take care of me.That plant, those stairs, that gold chair. The whole place reminded me that taking a break can actually feel luxurious even if it is just for an afternoon.
I came in stressed and I left with a calmer face and a calmer head. That is a win in my book.I am definitely doing this again.
