Hi Hive Lovers

Recently, I received a gift of snacks from a friend who comes from a cassava-producing area, Padang. She already understood that my wife and I really like cassava chips.

Our friend was also very understanding that my wife and I have different tastes. I like the pure cassava chips (the white ones), and my wife really likes the spicy cassava chips (the red ones).

Tastes are never the same

I was involved in some small talk with my wife when she asked, "Why are our tastes different in this matter?" I did not immediately answer my wife's simple question. But I took one piece of the spicy chips it had. After eating it, I commented that the chips were delicious but very spicy. I always have to grab a glass of water and drink it right away. My wife also took one of my chips, and she also commented that they were crunchy and still delicious.

This has happened repeatedly every time we enjoy our chips, and it's happened since I married him. I like plain cassava chips, and my wife likes spicy cassava chips.

There was no problem with the difference in taste between our individual cassava chips. Our tastes are different, but both of us can understand how different the tastes of regular cassava chips and spicy cassava chips are.

My wife and I have never felt compelled to push each other's tastes on each other. If we do that, you can certainly imagine what will happen between me and my wife.

Just like you impose your taste on others, your tongue and other people's tongues are not the same. Everyone has choices to suit their individual tastes because everyone has a background in fulfilling their tastes.

Differences in tastes, differences in points of view, and even differences in principles in a husband-and-wife relationship are much easier to put together because there is a background of affection that binds the two of them.

But not with other relationships, like work relationships, for example. Let's take a look.

The background makes the difference

Differences in various backgrounds in a workplace cause the birth of various points of view for everyone looking at something.

Often, we deal with many people in the place where we work, and that's how often problems come to us. I want to limit it to the world of work because that's where friction or conflicts of interest often occur.

The world of work is not just about coming and going and getting paid. There are many people we have to understand, good or bad, we have to accept, hear people who never understand back, argue with stubborn people, manipulative people, people who procrastinate on work, people who never feel guilty, people who are always looking for various reasons, play victim, and a thousand other problems.

You know that you are strong; it is impossible for God to bring you this far without failing. Never give up on people at work. But give in to your husband or wife.

About perspective

With my experience working with many people for more than 15 years, I have come to the conclusion that various problems that arise in the world of work are actually very simple; it's just a matter of perspective in seeing things.

The biggest mistake they make is not being able to see the truth from someone else's perspective. Again, the biggest mistake we make is not being able to see from other people's perspectives.

The truth for a person is a conclusion from their own perspective. Everyone has their own perspective, and it will be a problem when someone's perspective is forced to be the truth for someone else.

If everyone had a choice, then they would choose based on their own perspective. If you impose your perspective, then you have to bring someone to see from your perspective, and you also have to bring yourself to other people's perspectives.

The same perspective will give birth to the same view, which will have the opportunity to be accepted as a shared truth.

Look at a problem from other people's perspectives too!
