Hello everybody,

I started using my walking aide, the silver cane. I can walk without the aide but not fast and sometimes my legs are stiff and I've experienced my left knee no energy or felt nothing so, am afraid I will fall down especially in crossing the street. To avoid future accident it is better to use the cane for precaution. Am not ashame to use it.

When am using the cane then I sit down on a chair and park it beside me hmm it usually come in contact with my skin, ouch, I don't like the feeling of the aluminum, it is too cold.

Solution, I am yarn bombing my cane, hehehe and also to protect the handle made of foam easily soiled.

Last night I started crocheting the handle using the 8 ply cotton from my stash I got in Olongapo City during our unplanned travel last month.

In designing, it involves trial and error. On my first attempt I made 16 double crochet (DC) in a ring, using 1.9mm hook, I thought it was enough fit for the round edge of the cane handle, hmm, it was short, so, I frogged it.

Started again, this time with 20 extended double crochet (EDC) in a ring, perfect! I continued, joined it to the 3rd of the first chain(CH) 3.

In row 2, Ch 1, then all single crochet (SC) in back loops only, all around. same process I continued until row 18. I noticed my work was too tight. When I tried to fit the hande ho my, it didn't push through.

My My My, frogged again! Grrr...but, patiently start from the very beginning.

This time, I used 2.5 mm hook, then I did not join the ends. I will just sew the both edges.

At the moment, I stopped on row 15. I must crochet this as fast as I can for I use my cane everyday. This will not fall under stop, set aside, crochet you later project. I will post my new look cane next post, for until now am still thinking what yarn colors I will use for the lower part.
