Hello fellow Steemian, since you'all knew that I'm a Chinese, let's talk some more about my Chinese heritage!

Born Chinese

Just like most other Malaysian Chinese, my parents are Malaysian Chinese too. They are considered as traditional Chinese parents, where my given names had to follow certain rules, that I've been told that the rule had been followed for past 300 years. I have 5 cousins that follow the same rule too.

我的中文名字是葉端俊。端，乃端莊、端正之意，同時也是我的排行。俊，取之“才俊”之“俊”，父親的寓意很清楚，希望我能做個堂堂正正的一等人才，造福社會鄉里。我共有五位堂兄弟，為：端輝、端豪、端國、端霖、端健。本房祖先最早可追朔至康熙（約公元1700年）時代葉君錫公。我曾祖葉登熙於民國初來馬來西亞發展，幾十年來輾轉兩地奔波，最後於馬來西亞雪蘭莪雙溪毛糯 (Sungai Buloh, Selangor)

Raise Chinese

I studied in SJK(C) Kheow Bin, then graduated to Chong Hwa Independent High School. Both of these school provide me the environment to study and learn Chinese, while at the same time I am required to study English and Malay. At first, it's very difficult to be proficient in three language, I had a hard time to coupe with the burden of multiple vocab and grammars, yet the pay off is very beneficial. Also, I get to learn a few Chinese dialect to communicate with my grandparents.

我小學就讀僑民國民型華小，中學畢業於吉隆坡中華獨立中學。由於我父母堅持讓我接受母語教育，我自小除了學習中文，更學習英文和馬來文（巫語），小小年紀的我更為這事嘗盡了苦頭。可皇天不負有心人，在父母不間斷的鞭策下，我目前對於中英巫掌握都算流利，讀寫說都不是問題。此外，為了方便與祖父祖母和其他長輩們聊天，我還會說一口流利的客家話和粵語。

Finally a Malaysian

One thing that I am really grateful to my parents is that their ability to provide me with a diverse environment, allowing me to learn the many aspect of the diversity of Malaysia's social and culture. My parents often bring me to their friends' kenduri (open house in Malay), while teaches me the proper table manners when eating using my hands at the same time. Malaysian history, social and culture is often the topic of discussion between family members, that provide me with different aspect that I couldn't have if I only observe through my eyes.

我非常感激我的父母能提供一個多元的環境讓我摸索馬來西亞的歷史和文化特色。他們經常攜帶我出席友族同胞的婚禮，並教會我各種社交禮儀，包括餐桌禮儀等。此外，我們也經常把馬來西亞的歷史，文化社交現況做為茶餘飯後聊天內容，這讓我能通過不同的視角去欣賞馬來西亞。
