Дуже довго точилися дискусії чи варто прикрашати ялинки, чи варто святкувати, чи варто взагалі перейматися цими клопотами, коли в країні гинуть люди, коли навколо небезпека, в той час коли наші мужні захисники й захисниці захищають нас, щохвилини ризикуючи життям. Велика частина суспільства дотримується думки, що не варто влаштовувати гуляння та взагалі якісь урочистості.

For a very long time, there were discussions about whether it is worth decorating Christmas trees, whether it is worth celebrating, whether it is worth bothering with these troubles at all, when people are dying in the country, when there is danger around, while our courageous defenders protect us, risking their lives every minute. A large part of the society is of the opinion that it is not necessary to organize parties and in general any celebrations.
Свято Миколая, в першу чергу, стосується дітей. Це вони чекають на його прихід, це вони вірять в добро і казку. За цей неймовірно складний рік нашій малечі довелося пережити дуже багато. Вони побачили страшні речі, дізналися про смерть і жорстокість. Наші діти ночували у підвалах, їх будили серед ночі, вони знають звуки сирени і вибухів, багато хто з них чекає на тата з фронту. І як можна після таких травмуючих подій залишити їх без мрії, без шматочка позитиву, без радісних емоцій? Вони заслужили на маленький сюрприз та на годину святкування.
The holiday of Nicholas, first of all, concerns children. It is they who are waiting for his arrival, it is they who believe in goodness and a fairy tale. During this incredibly difficult year, our little one had to go through a lot. They saw terrible things, learned about death and cruelty. Our children spent the night in basements, they were woken up in the middle of the night, they know the sounds of sirens and explosions, many of them are waiting for dad from the front. And how can you leave them without a dream, without a piece of positivity, without joyful emotions after such traumatic events? They deserved a little surprise and an hour of celebration.
Насправді, відволіктися та трішки розслабитися потрібно і дорослим. І нехай ми самі собі покладемо подарунок під подушку, і нехай ми знаємо, що Святий Миколай то легенда, та навіть влаштовуючи невеличке свято і сюрприз для своїх дітей чи вихованців ми долучимося до позитиву та гарантовано підвищимо рівень серотоніну у крові.
In fact, even adults need to distract themselves and relax a little. And let us put a present under the pillow for ourselves, and let us know that St. Nicholas is a legend, and even by arranging a small holiday and surprise for our children or pets, we will join in the positive and guaranteed to increase the level of serotonin in the blood.
У моєму дитинстві не святкували день Святого Миколая. Лише у 2006 році, за указом президента “Про заходи щодо відродження традиційного народного мистецтва” відродилася ця древня традиція українців – дарувати подарунки від Миколая. Так що я та мої ровесники не знаємо, як це чудово прокинутися вранці та знайти під подушкою омріяну іграшку і солодощі.
Пам’ятаю, коли моя дочка була маленькою, вранці 19 грудня вона перевіряла всі подушки в домі. Тому ми намагалися під кожну щось покласти. Її захват і радість від цього дорогого варті, ці спогади щасливі і для неї, і для мене.
In my childhood, Saint Nicholas Day was not celebrated. Only in 2006, according to the presidential decree "On measures for the revival of traditional folk art", this ancient tradition of Ukrainians was revived - to give gifts from Nicholas. So I and my peers do not know how wonderful it is to wake up in the morning and find a dream toy and sweets under the pillow.
I remember when my daughter was little, on the morning of December 19, she would check all the pillows in the house. Therefore, we tried to put something under each one. Her delight and joy from this trip are worth it, these memories are happy for both her and me.
Вчора моя подруга розповіла, що зберігає листа, якого писав її син Святому Миколаєві у 1 класі (зараз йому 19 років). Він просив принести йому мобільний телефон і 15 гривень. Чому саме 15, не зрозуміло. Питаємо у нього, а він посміхається і каже що не пам’ятає.
Давайте разом вірити в чудо і добро. Нам, дорослим, всім хочеться Перемоги, яку ми і проситимемо у Святого Миколая. А діткам потрібна, звичайно ж, перемога і … шоколадка, наприклад. Кладіть під подушки малечі смаколики та іграшки. Це зробить їх щасливішими. Діти України слухняні і як ніхто заслуговують на радість та на здійснення бажань.
Yesterday, my friend told me that she keeps a letter that her son wrote to St. Nicholas in the 1st grade (now he is 19 years old). He asked to bring him a mobile phone and 15 hryvnias. Why exactly 15, is not clear. We ask him, and he smiles and says that he does not remember.
Let's believe in miracles and goodness together. As adults, we all want Victory, which we will ask from St. Nicholas. And children need, of course, victory and ... chocolate, for example. Put little treats and toys under the pillows. It will make them happier. Children of Ukraine are obedient and more than anyone deserve joy and the fulfillment of wishes.
