The following images were made using my custom build of Disco Diffusion, photo-manipulation and digital drawing through Gimp and Inkscape, and post editing/composition in darktable.
@Death.Milk.Designs is a generative art creator and a quite unique MidJourney user. We've been in contact for a while now, sharing music and art to each other, 'till one day we decided "HEY! Let's try something, we'll get some stuff I generate on MJ and you'll use them as initial_images in your creative workflow! Let's see what Disco Diffusion and photobashing could do to these things"!
So here are the 3 images he sent me to work with:
The Big Freaking Giant
The Mouth of Cthulhu
... what is this
I ran these images whole into Disco Diffusin first, then went on with my usual slicing into 9 parts, and ran each part back into DD with different prompts, and stitched them back up together in Gimp!
Compositing was of course done in darktable.
The Big Freaky Giant
The Cthulhu In The Mouth
Mecha-organic Cthulhuish
The Acheron, River of Madness
Storm On The Acheron
I had too many slices and cuts, so I decided to make 2 versions of each, in slightly different styles. It was a very fun little experiment, and I'm looking forward to more collabs like this.
Right now, @Death.Milk.Designs and I are working on a much more advanced series of collaborative pieces, cross-softwares, that will consist of multiple artworks inspired by medieval fantasy stories.
