Hello, Aliens!
Most of my artworks usually begin with the music I'm listening to. Sometimes, an image comes to mind while a song is playing, and I end up trying to turn it into something visual. Other times, I only start to understand what I want to create after listening to the music a few times.
I made this piece while listening to not my home, an album by i don't like mirrors.
I didn't have a clear concept when I started working on it. I just followed the images that came into my mind while the music kept playing. Little by little, a figure standing alone in the middle of a city began to take shape, with a huge moon in the sky and two giant hands seemingly framing it.
I'm not entirely sure how to describe the atmosphere I wanted to create here. There's something unfamiliar about it, a little lonely, but also intriguing. The small figure beneath the moon seems so distant from everything around it, almost as if it's standing somewhere that doesn't entirely belong to reality.
I like how music can take our minds to places we might never have imagined otherwise. We don't always have to understand the meaning behind something we create, and I think that's okay. Sometimes, I just want to follow a feeling and let it grow into an image.
Maybe that's also why music has become such a big part of my creative process.
I've included all the images I used in creating this artwork below.
Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you in my next post.
