There's something I've noticed whenever I make a collage, the music I listen to often determines where my imagination takes me.

When I listen to something mellow, my work tends to feel quiet and melancholic. When the music is more energetic, my collages usually become bolder and more colorful. I never really plan it that way. Somehow, the mood of the music finds its way into the images.

This time, I was listening to music with melodies that reminded me of hope and memories. And for some reason, I kept thinking about how something small can make us remember something much bigger. I started imagining a scene that we would never encounter in everyday life. A dark sky filled with stars, a giant sunflower glowing in the distance, a few bees hovering around it, and people standing by the water, watching it all unfold. Then there's a green watering can appearing from the upper corner of the image, releasing tiny drops of water toward the flower.

I like the contrast. On one side, there's something that feels as vast as the universe. On the other, there's a simple act we know so well, watering a plant. We don't usually think too much about watering a flower. We give it a little water and carry on with our day. But hidden in that simple act is a quiet expectation. We hope the plant stays alive, keeps growing, and eventually gives us the bloom we've been waiting for.

Maybe hope works that way, too.

It doesn't always arrive as something huge or change our lives overnight. Sometimes, it lives in the little things we keep doing, even when we have no idea what the outcome will be. And memories have their own way of staying with us. A song, a certain color, or an ordinary-looking scene can take us back to a time long gone. We may not be able to return to it, but for a moment, we can feel something that once meant a lot to us.

When I look at this collage, I imagine the people in the scene taking a brief pause from their everyday lives. Maybe they're remembering something. Maybe they're simply enjoying an impossible sight unfolding in front of them. I don't want to decide what they're thinking. I'd rather leave them as part of a story that each person can interpret in their own way.

This is my second collage for the October LMAC prompt. As with my previous works, I let the music accompany me throughout the creative process and followed wherever my imagination wandered.

And this time, it took me to a place where a sunflower could grow beneath a star-filled sky, and a single drop of water could be enough to make us think about hope.
