Welcome dear internet travelers who love reading and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, today I bring you a short story that focuses on the internal struggles that an individual can have when trying to achieve a goal which involves sacrifice and commitment, which are the best words that can be used when wanting to lose weight. Without further ado, settle into your seats and put on your reading glasses that we are about to start.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros del internet amantes de la lectura y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, el día de hoy les traigo una historia corta que tiene como enfoque las luchas internas que puede tener un individuo a la hora de intentar conseguir un objetivo el cual conlleva sacrificio y compromiso, que son las mejores palabras que se pueden usar a la hora de querer bajar de peso. Sin más que agregar acomódense en sus asientos y pónganse sus lentes de lectura que estamos por comenzar.

He was leaving work as usual, it was an extremely hot Friday so every corner of his body sweated, he got into his car and drove home; she had a comfortable job, she always imposed a quality standard for what she did, which had led her to have a position of deputy manager in the company in which she worked so she enjoyed the fruits of her effort. When he got home he opened the garage to store the vehicle, what he did not expect is that Sparky, his little Beagle, would run out as if his life depended on it, when he realized this Sofia put the brake on his vehicle and shot out behind him, it was amazing to see a woman of 180 kg running so fast.
Se encontraba saliendo de su trabajo como de costumbre, era un viernes sumamente caluroso por lo que cada rincón de su cuerpo sudaba, subió a su coche y condujo hasta su casa; tenía un trabajo cómodo, siempre se impuso un estándar de calidad para lo que hacía, lo que la había llevado a tener un puesto de sub gerente en la empresa en la que trabajaba por lo que gozaba de los frutos de su esfuerzo. Al llegar a su casa abrió el garaje para guardar el vehículo, lo que no esperaba es que Sparky, su pequeño Beagle, saliese corriendo como si su vida dependiese de ello, al percatarse de esto Sofía puso el freno a su vehículo y salió disparada detrás de él, resultaba asombroso ver a una mujer de 180 kg correr tan rápido.
As if it were a sixth sense, the puppy stopped his career when he saw his owner running, he was almost 100 meters from it and decided to return of his own volition, poor Sofia had barely been able to run less than a tenth of that stretch and was totally exhausted, with a red face and a rough and accelerated breath trying to absorb as much air as possible; as he approached him the canine took him in his hands and lifted him, as he could he returned to his car. He collapsed on the seat, his eyes were cloudy, he heard a buzz and he had a terrible pain in his chest as if he had a ton of weight on top of it, that ordeal that seemed eternal was gradually abating to the point of becoming tolerable as to finish putting the vehicle away and curl up inside his house to wait for his ailments to disappear.
Como si de un sexto sentido se tratase, el cachorro detuvo su carrera al ver a su dueña correr, estaba casi a 100 metros de esta y decidió regresar por voluntad propia, la pobre Sofía apenas había podido correr menos de una décima parte de ese trecho y se encontraba totalmente agotada, con la cara roja y una respiración tosca y acelerada tratando de absorber tanto aire como le fuese posible; al acercársele el canino lo tomo entre sus manos y lo alzo, como pudo regresó a su auto. Se desplomó sobre el asiento, tenía la vista nublada, escuchaba un zumbido y tenía un terrible dolor en el pecho como si tuviese una tonelada de peso encima de este, aquel suplicio que pareció eterno fue amainando paulatinamente al punto de volverse tolerable como para terminar de guardar el vehículo y acurrucarse dentro de su casa para esperar a que sus dolencias desapareciesen.
Sofia did not have dinner that night, she no longer felt pain, but the bitter feeling that this left her took away her desire for everything, she tried to sleep as much as her sleep apnea allowed, the next morning she got up early with the aim of going to see a doctor because she did not consider that experience to have been something normal. He went to the nearest office, waited for his turn and told the doctor many things: His lifestyle, his eating habits, his ailments, among other things, being a consultation that would last more than 1 hour. Leaving there Sofia was very thoughtful, so much so that when she entered her car all she could do was reflect on everything she had been told being that her sufferings came from the same evil which was her obesity.
Sofía no cenó esa noche, ya no sentía dolor, pero el sentimiento amargo que este le dejo le quitaron las ganas de todo, trato de dormir tanto como su apnea de sueño le permitió, a la mañana siguiente se levantó temprano con el objetivo de ir a ver a un doctor debido a que no consideraba que aquella experiencia hubiese sido algo normal. Fue al consultorio más cercano, espero su turno y le comentó al médico muchas cosas: Su estilo de vida, sus hábitos alimenticios, sus dolencias, entre otras cosas, siendo una consulta que duraría más de 1 hora. Saliendo de ahí Sofía se encontraba muy pensativa, tanto así que al entrar en su carro todo lo que pudo hacer fue reflexionar sobre todo lo que le habían dicho siendo que sus padecimientos provenían de un mismo mal el cual era su obesidad.
The cause of his excessive amount of weight had 2 causes: The fact that his life in general was sedentary and that he consumed many sweets and snacks that were unhealthy; however, his taste for these would not be greater than the fear he had of suffering another episode in which he felt as if his life was being torn away. Without making much fuss he contacted a nutritionist and a personal trainer, he wanted to continue living a good life and his extra kilos would be an obstacle to it.
El causal de su excesiva cantidad de peso tenía 2 causas: El hecho de que su vida en general era sedentaria y que consumía muchos dulces y aperitivos que eran poco saludables; sin embargo, su gusto por estos no sería mayor que el miedo que tenía por sufrir otro episodio en el que sentía como si le estuviesen arrancando la vida. Sin hacer mucho escándalo se puso en contacto con un nutricionista y con un entrenador personal, quería seguir viviendo una buena vida y sus kilos de más serían un obstáculo para ello.

La primera semana se sentía terriblemente adolorida, su cuerpo se había acostumbrado a tener la mínima actividad posible por lo que al empezar a ejercitarse aun siendo de bajo impacto repercutía en aquel gran ser; sin embargo, también se enfrentaba a otras luchas: La primera consistía en acostumbrarse a alimentarse con cosas más sanas, sus aperitivos saludables también eran deliciosos puesto que consistía en frutas y diversas legumbres, pero por muy buenas que fuesen no eran un sustituto perfecto, sus ansias de comer otras cosas eran grandes sobre todo cuando pasaba caminando por la dulcería que quedaba cerca de su trabajo, era en esta donde compraba su chocolate favorito. El otro problema procedía de ser consistente con sus ejercicios, nunca había considerado que el incorporarlo a su vida diaria sería también un reto. Pese a todas las tentaciones que tenía Sofía aprendió a controlarse y a hacer lo que tenía que hacer incluso si no tenía ganas de hacerlo; para sus antojos alimenticios opto por comer muy pocos de estos dulces para poder satisfacer sus ganas pero en cantidades pequeñas para no abusar por completo, y, para la constancia, simplemente necesitaba recordar su terrible episodio de dolencias para tener la motivación que necesaria.

De buenas a primeras sabía que le tomaría tiempo y no era algo que le molestase, con el pasar de los meses pudo ir aumentando la cantidad de ejercicio y sentirse bien con eso; lo que más le gustaba era el hecho de no sentirse pesada y el poder hacer actividades cotidianas con más facilidad. Llegado un punto y como era de esperarse las personas comenzaran a darse cuenta de su cambio, algunos la elogiaron, y otros, como era de esperarse, comentaban que su perdida de peso era producto de haberse operado, de matarse de hambre o demás cosas disparatadas sin fundamento. Todas esas cosas tanto buenas como malas fueron ignoradas por Sofía debido a que nunca le importo la opinión ajena, lo estaba haciendo por ella misma; le importaba mejorar su salud y los sacrificios que hizo para llegar a donde estaba y que tenía que hacer para mantenerse ahí eran solo de su incumbencia.
