Soto ayam is a typical Indonesian food in the form of a kind of chicken soup with a yellowish sauce. This yellow color is caused by turmeric which is used as a spice. Chicken soup is found in areas in Indonesia and Singapore. Besides chicken, the ingredients used also include boiled eggs, sliced potatoes, daunseledri, and fried onions. Sometimes soto is also served with rice cake or white rice. In addition, chicken soup is also often served with sambal, crackers and koya (a mixture of crackers with garlic).
