QUÉ CALOR
Se va la mañana
se acerca el mediodía
el fuego solar
hiere la piel.
No hay sombra que valga
el resplandor es suficiente
no hay tanta agua
para la piel refrescarse
qué calor.
Suaviza la tarde
con su llegada
pero el resplandor
sigue allí
entre las paredes.
Al fin llega la noche
pero se va la luz
vuelve el calor
los sudores nocturnos
y la alteración
de buscar
el mejor lugar
para robarle la frescura
a la noche.
HOW HOT
Morning fades
midday approaches
the sun's heat stings the skin.
No shade is worth it
the glare is enough
there isn't enough water
to cool the skin
how hot.
The afternoon softens
with its arrival
but the glare
remains there
between the walls.
Finally, night arrives
but the light fades
the heat returns
the night sweats
and the restlessness
of searching
for the best place
to steal the coolness
from the night.
