Today we celebrated International Running Day, and it was a truly wonderful experience. We ran 5 kilometers at night, and while running always requires effort, doing it with a large group completely changes the atmosphere. There's something motivating about seeing so many people sharing the same goal and enjoying the run.
Lately, I've been adding more kilometers to my routine because I want to improve my fitness for all the challenges I have ahead. Between the gym and work, the fatigue sometimes builds up, but days like this remind me that exercise can also be a way to have fun and connect with other people.
And since every good celebration deserves a reward, at the end of the run there was a DJ, contests, and discounts at a restaurant. So I did what any reasonable person would do after running 5K: I ate a chocolate cake.
