Here's to morn.
as the sun peeps
into wooden windows,
clanking tumblers
and spilling froth.
yesternight was war,
with my soul,
strapped beneath
the ocean of anguish
and drowning,
but cheers,
to a bloodless victory.
Here's to us,
conqueror
of many wars.
Like Hercules and Thor
thorn from limb to limb,
brandishing gaping wounds
as trophies,
and broken ribs
as laurels
telling soundless tales
with our scares;
a witness of our struggles.
A jar of wine,
to the slain.
let us sadly merry
in monotones and baritones
like writers
telling tragicomic stories
as their bodies,
racked to go home.
in piles of glory and pain.
A moment...
Of silent epiphany.
As our hearts connects in grief.
as it ripples
across candles and flames.
as blood traveling through veins,
like a chain, as the vibration
unites us.
We are taken aback
to when we were invisible.
Only to the swiftness
of a flying arrow.
Here is to us...
Clashing goblets,
clanging cups,
and feasting mouths.
We have seen lonely days
bedeviled by
the gnawing hands of fear,
strapped to haunted valleys
and echoing mountains.
as hope evades us.
Under the glisten embers
of moonlight.
Clasped near a dimly lit fire
as frogs, croaking
and cicadas chirping.
We will be surrounded,
by little children,
listening to their mindless bickering.
and tireless laughters
urging us to them
a new story.
