In Cuba we almost always prefer our national coffee. Cuban coffee is very aromatic and delicious. Cubans, we are truly passionate about coffee, it is the ideal companion for any meeting among friends or for those precious moments with the family. It is normal to go out on the street in the mornings and see people enjoying their cup of coffee, either in a kiosk or in a coffee shop. A steaming cup of this beverage is a must to start our day.
For some time now, the increase in prices due to inflation has made it a little difficult to buy the brands of Cuban coffee that I like so much (Serrano, Cubita, Turquino), and not because there are none, but because they have become more expensive. So I have often had to try other brands that I am not used to, almost always because someone gifts them to me, as was this package of Beo Hive coffee, a present from my in-laws. A coffee I did not know.
I was astonished when I read the name, since it has the same name as our hive, so I started looking for its history on the Internet, and I found its official website.
That is how I found out that this coffee is marketed in several countries and that it emerged as a family business coming from Italy. They sell various types of coffee, in beans, ground, in capsules, I did not know that there were coffee capsules, I am curious to see how this variant is prepared.
The package they gave me was Expresso, ground coffee of different types of beans, medium roast. And I loved it. Of course, I'm still loyal to Cuban coffee, but it's always nice to taste something new.
For me who is used to drinking strong coffee, if I compare it with the coffee produced here I found it a little softer and with less bitterness, and I liked the change on the palate and feel a different flavor than the one I always drink. The aroma is delicious, I always enjoy the smell of freshly brewed coffee.
I didn't wait long, I immediately opened it and prepared my coffee pot to make a brew for me and my husband. We both always enjoy being able to share a cup of coffee.
