I wanted to spend a few minutes tonight to talk about...Content!
You see, I may not admit it, but I suppose I'm what you would call a content creator. Now let me be clear on something, I'm most definitely not what you would call a Pulitzer Prize winning author by any stretch. Heck, I struggle at some of the more basic things when it comes to writing.
My sentences are never structured properly. My paragraphs might be too short or too long....And what's with all those silly periods I use?

But I have a passion for building businesses online and a passion for building on the blockchain!
It feeds me. Fires me up. Helps me get motivated anytime I might feel lukewarm about creating on any given day.
Passion is a key word there but what I really wanted to talk about tonight was a lesson I learned years ago from one of the biggest names in social media....
...You may have heard of him, his name is Gary Vaynerchuk.
He's a big deal in the social media space and about a decade or more ago I read his first book 'Crush It' where he speaks about the passion you need to build anything online. And while it's fantastic advice, I was taken by something else he mentioned all those years ago...
One of Gary's most famous pieces of advice is to 'document everything'.
His suggestion is that whatever business you are trying to build, you should become the guinea pig, try things out, test it all, poke around but always...Document it!
Let people see your wins, your failures and your journey each and every day.
That advice makes sense to me because I've always thought people do business with those they know, like and trust. Most of us aren't sitting on our laptops or scrolling on our phones in a suit and tie. So when we document things, we show others that we are real people...Not 'professional suits' for a faceless corporation.
The idea of documenting everything helps build relationships with others because they see your faults. When you show people things that may have worked, but more importantly things that didn't...You strengthen that relationship.
Tomorrow night I'll be firing up #MyHiveGoals my weekly dive into my journey here on Hive. I do these posts for a few reasons, one to keep me on track and focused on my goals. But the bigger reason is to show others what I'm doing and if it's working or not.
I have a goal of hitting 100 Hive each and every day on the blockchain. A big, bold and crazy goal...And most of the weeks on Hive, I don't hit half of what I want to reach. Is that a big fat L for loss?
I don't think so...I think it's my journey and I'm documenting it all. If I don't hit a goal, I don't lie about it, I share it. If I do hit the goal, I'm pumped up. But no matter what, I'll share it with others.
So if you are looking for an idea or two, and get stuck on what to write about on Hive....
