I like to write about something quiet important to put into consideration. I'm saying that Your body will always whispers before it screams out loud.
One thing I've noticed is that many of us are excellent at ignoring our bodies.
We'll dismiss the fatigue, joke about surviving on two hours of sleep, and keep pushing through because "there's work to do."
Then, when those ignored whispers become something more serious, that's when the finger-pointing begins. Suddenly, everything is spiritual. 😂 (Issorite).
One thing I'm learning in Nursing School is that our bodies are incredibly patient.
They rarely go from "I'm fine" to "Emergency!" overnight. Instead, they whisper, "I'm tired," "I need rest," or "I'm overwhelmed."
You ignore the constant fatigue, brush off the headaches, survive on little sleep, and convince yourself that your body will eventually adjust. You convince yourself that resting is laziness and that slowing down means you're falling behind.
Stress doesn't always announce itself dramatically. It often starts quietly. You struggle to concentrate.
You're exhausted even after sleeping.
You become unusually irritable.
You lose your appetite, or you simply don't feel like yourself anymore.
These aren't inconveniences to ignore. They may be your body's way of asking you to slow down.
Rest is not a reward for finishing everything on your to-do list. It's one of the ways you take care of your health.
So, please, listen to your body. And if these symptoms persist, become severe, or begin to interfere with your daily life, don't ignore them. Seek proper medical attention.
Your body has been speaking to you all along. Don't wait until it has to scream.
Rest when you need to. Eat well. Talk to someone.
