I’d like to be able to breathe—
to love you by memory or fidelity.
But my heart aches.
I love you so intensely.

Sunlit Moment

I’ve been ordering
my body to forget,
but when I dream
my arms remember,

I end up aching all over
Awakening
From your thunder.

Dazed and frightened
By our conundrum
And memories
Of lost summers,

I struggle
To tear asunder
Memories that still linger;

Interplays of shadow
Yellow, green and black…

And sunlit moments
When your eyes stared back.
