ENGLISH
The Sunday sun is different
It lazily unravels from the silhouette of the mountains, there to the east; it rises perhaps because it seeks to drink from the blue lake in which the sparkles still sleep. The colors that little by little are undressing of shades and shimmering appear in the valley adorning with their yellows and oranges of flowers. Even the different shades of green in the tall foliage know that it is Sunday and the sun is different.
Toby opens his eyes, stretches and quickly sits up when he hears noises in the kitchen, the unmistakable aroma coming from there promises him a delicious breakfast, as he walks he continues stretching to conjure the heaviness of sleep. Once at the table, next to the delicious food is Lucia waiting for him, she hugs him with her usual affection, Toby only smiles while the girl sits him next to her. Mom pours them some juice and is full of compliments for the beautiful day outside. "You should go for a walk in the park" Lucia looks at Toby with complicity as she finishes everything on her plate and hurries her glass of juice, Toby smiles, he likes to see how his little sister eats with such gusto.
Lucia and Toby hand in hand greet the mid-morning sun as they leave, they walk to the rhythm of the little girl who seems to be dancing while dragging poor Toby who is bouncing along the road as if he were made of wood, but without complaining and always smiling. Lucia keeps talking and marveling at the scenery, the birds singing and the brightness of the Sunday sun. Toby listens patiently and smiles, from time to time he would like to answer Lucia something but the girl does not give space between each witticism that comes to her head and comes out of her mouth.
In the park people are arriving and settling in the best places, Lucia hurries the pace pulling Toby, she does not want to lose her favorite meadow, a kind of hill lined with almost blue grass and small flowers where she usually lies down to watch the clouds, in her childish mind is a space of magic and light where anything is possible, there crickets play guitar, butterflies give colorful nectar greeting her with kisses on the cheek and clouds; they wink at her while they change their impossible shapes. There are Lucia and Toby lying on the grass, the minutes become hours and a strong desire knots in Toby's heartstrings and he clings to Lucia's hand, now she is the one who smiles.
On the way back home, they walk at Toby's pace, who is the one who never stops talking as if he had never talked before, he talks and asks questions, marveling at the landscape he now looks at as never before, when they arrive home Toby steps for the first time with his own foot on that entrance while Lucia laughs and shouts to her mom "Mom, you can't even imagine what happened with Toby".
There in the meadow Toby's old body remained inert, he was looking at the sky, he looks without looking and he is still s He is still smiling.
The end.
