Hey Steemit,
Let's cut the bullshit. I'm sinking, a knot in my throat the size of a fist is threatening to choke me. I'm treading water badly and these legs only have so much kick left in them. I took a sales position because I knew that with no ceiling and no floor I would go far. But I'm in the valley of the shadow of death right now and things are ugly. I just finished a tearful phone call with my mom. I was getting ready to pawn my guitar to pay my phone bill. My roommate said to call my parents. So I called her. She was already on her way to the bank. I moved to Spokane to do something amazing. I want to get ahead and give my family the world. But lately I feel like I'm shooting holes in the lifeboat. Every time they bail me out, they sink a little deeper too. Is faith really what I need right now? And God, if you're listening, how low do you plan on taking me?
In my line of work, it's my job to thrive and be attractive. It's hard to fake. In fact, I can't fake it. The hardest sale to make is the one you need to make. Right now, I need to make every sale and I haven't made one. I've been listening to The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck on Audible. I'm not sure if it's helping, but it reminded me to read Bukowski, and that's always a good thing.
Anyways, I feel like I'm dying right now. But nothing's about to explode. Relax, breathe. Play a song.
Don't try.
We'll make it, we will make it.
