In summary, the last week consisted of days with gray skies and slow rains, the kind that dampen the spirits of even the most cheerful. And yet, as usually happens on these days of that white, flat, and uniform light, the colors remained vivid... Almost automatically, I kept looking at what I saw, stealing with a "click" from time what I found happening and, at the same time, observing my thoughts as if standing from the outside, as if every single thing passing through my head were a gray, slow fish moving along the course of a river whose waters run absurdly slow. That, in short, was how I understood this past week. And there were almost no shadows because the white light came from everywhere, or at least so it seemed. And the most curious thing: the people around seemed to fake normalcy and tried to quicken their pace, but it was to no avail; the town was slow, frankly slow...

En resumen, la semana fue de días con cielos grises y lluvias lentas, de esas que hacen decaer los ánimos aun a los más alegres. Y sin embargo, como suele suceder en estos días de esa luz blanca, plana y pareja, los colores se mantuvieron vivos... Casi de manera automática, fui mirando lo que miré, robándole con un «click» al tiempo lo que encontré sucediendo y, al mismo tiempo, observando mis pensamientos como parado desde afuera, como si cada cosa que pasaba por mi cabeza fuera un pez gris y lento, yendo por el cauce de un río cuyas aguas corren absurdamente lentas. Así, en resumen, fue como entendí esta semana que pasó. Y casi no hubo sombras porque la luz blanca venía de todas partes, o cuando menos así lo parecía. Y lo más curioso: las personas alrededor parecían fingir normalidad e intentaban apurar el paso, pero no servía de nada; el pueblo estaba lento, francamente lento...

The first paragraph of this post is also a photo, I suppose. But one made with letters that form words that sound a bit jumbled. Just as jumbled as the things passing through my head sound, while I was, this past week, walking through these streets saturated with bright clarity and dampness... Just like in that paragraph, it is also valid to make a "click," I suppose...

El primer párrafo de esta publicación también es una foto, supongo. Pero una hecha con letras que forman palabras que suenan un poco revueltas. Así como revueltas suenan las cosas que pasan por mi cabeza mientras iba, esta semana pasada, caminando por estas calles saturadas de claridades y humedades... Así, como en ese párrafo, también es válido hacer «click», supongo...

And it's good to learn to ramble. Is that something you can learn? I don't know, but I do know it's good, and even better is writing down the ramblings that stick in your memory, like abstract stains that can say things (and this last thought also crossed my mind while I was wandering the streets taking these photos)...

Y es bueno aprender a divagar. ¿Eso se aprende, acaso? No lo sé, pero sí sé que es bueno; y aun más bueno es escribir las divagaciones que se quedan pegadas en la memoria, como manchas abstractas que pueden decir cosas (y esto último también me pasó por la cabeza mientras deambulaba por las calles haciendo estas fotos)...
