A vehicle lumbering along the dirt road, a pile of farm implements at the entrance to an old farmhouse, a nearly leafless tree bursting with orange blossoms, fences framing the pastures with fog in the background, a vine's flower trying to stand out as it climbs barbed wire, an iron cross at the side of the road, an orange gate that looks like it was plucked from somewhere else and placed there for a photo, a truck stopped in the distance on the paved road while its driver waves to pedestrians, bare trees and others already dead, and even my old bicycle stopped on a country lane as if it were heading towards the fog that erases it... In the countryside, on mornings like these, there's a photograph happening practically everywhere you look. And these photographs I'm sharing with you today here on #Hive bear witness to everything I've said in these few lines...

Un vehículo avanzando pesadamente por el camino de tierra, un montón de implementos agrícolas en la entrada de una vieja granja, un árbol casi deshojado pero repleto de anaranjadas, las empalizadas enmarcando los pastizales con la niebla al fondo, la flor de una enredadera intentando resaltar mientras trepa por un alambre de púas, una cruz de hierro en la orilla del camino, un portal anaranjado que parece sacado de otro lugar y puesto allí para una foto, un camión detenido a lo lejos en la carretera asfaltada mientras su conductor saluda gente que va a pie, árboles desnudos y otros ya muertos, e incluso mi vieja bicicleta detenida en un camino rural como si ella estuviese hacia la niebla que lo borra... En el campo, en las mañanas como estas, existe una fotografía sucediendo prácticamente en cualquier dirección en la cual uno dirija la mirada. Y estas fotografías que estoy compartiendo con ustedes hoy aquí en #Hive, son testigos de todo esto que he dicho en este puñado de líneas...

I think I'll be retracing some of these paths early tomorrow, so I stayed up later than usual looking through my photo archives. While doing this, I was captivated by some unpublished images and decided to spend some time processing and editing them. Rural spaces have that effect on me, whether I'm out there taking photos or at home looking at the pictures I've taken... There's just something special about the countryside, something that stems from the fact that, since childhood, I've loved to wander and explore those spaces, imagining fantastical worlds and stories, inspired by the bucolic scenes I found there...

Creo que mañana recorreré una vez más algunos de estos caminos desde temprano, así que debido a eso estuve despierto hasta más tarde de lo acostumbrado mirando mis archivos de fotos. Pero, estando haciendo esto, me dejé seducir por algunas imágenes que permanecían allí inéditas y entonces decidí dedicar algo de tiempo a procesarlas y editarla. Los espacios rurales tienen ese efecto en mí, ya sea cuando estoy allí haciendo fotos, o sino cuando estoy en casa y poso mi mirada en las fotos que hice... Y es que hay un "algo especial" entre el ambiente rural y yo, y eso tiene que ver con el hecho de que, desde niño, yo amaba mirar y deambular en esos espacios, al mismo tiempo que imaginaba mundos e historias de fantasía, inspirado por las bucólicas visiones que allí encontraba...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
