At this stage of my life and the countless meals I have had, including my dietary changes when I decided to focus on my health and fitness; PIZZA will always be my favorite food. Of course, I am New York raised, born in Brooklyn, lived in the Bronx, Yonkers and Queens and worked in Manhattan for many years.

Why do I always preface that when I speak about pizza? Because I've been living in Florida for many years now and it will always be difficult to find anything close to great pizza that compares to anything from the best spots in New York. That includes any other state in America that I have visited and have tasted a pizza at.

But times change and the whole New York thing doesn't carry the weight it used to back in the day.

So it's not about finding anything close to New York Pizza, but being open minded to trying the pizza style of folks who take it seriously and produce a decent slice or personal.

This month and final month of the year it ended having had a personal pie from a place we've been to many times and one from a place Tiffany, the boys and I tried for the first time.

On Christmas Eve, I had the Margherita personal from GIOVANNI'S RESTAURANT which opened their place near our home here in Osceola County and have three other locations and I've personally visted three out of the four and Tiffa, the boys and I have visited two out of four. Their Baked Ziti is pretty good too and I've always liked their customer service. I'm a fan of Margherita pizza and their's is not bad.

The other personal I had was at the BACK PORCH PIZZA BAR and that one was an interesting place to have a bite, because it is in downtown Mount Dora where Tiffa, the boys and I were at earlier in December for the running event and we stayed a couple of nights to enjoy the holiday festivities. Needless to say, the place was packed and so busy. We ate outside with a fire pit in the center of the couches and tables we sat at.

I had the SAY CHEESE personal, which contains, fire roasted marinara, fontina and mozzarella blend, ricotta, bocconcini mozzarella, and goat cheese. dusted with shaved parmesan: Their Menu. The crust was very soggy, but overall not a bad bite of cheesiness.

Of course, taking photos of the pizza with my iPhone14 was a must.
