We are getting a lot of creatures and healer asset combos. 🤩 Just saw some on the resources channel on the Discord server. Every day I do claim some Zing from the delegation and stuff and reading updates and announcements while we wait for the actual game.
For this fan art, I incorporated Cinella, a bug type. So cute! I do not know if my proportion for this art is correct for the bug, haha. If it was in the size of real life, it would be sooo tiny. 😄
Art Process
See, I put the creature on the shoulder. I saw of its evolution and it's freaking cool! The harmony of the colors is just satisfying to the eye.
I am training my brain to start with the low saturation base so that when I apply the lighting, it would be easier. Next, I put some darker shades using airbrush. On each layer, I used a hard brudh for the cell shading.
More airbrush of the brownish red especially on the face part. The tricky part was putting the patches of light. It took me the most time to find the right spot to where I could put them as if the slits of the leaves where the sunlight passes through.
Final Art
Manually, I drew the branches using a cell brush. I chose the shade of brown that would complement the colors of yellow and orange. I chose yellow leaves to complement the character's green hair. Those leaves on the tree were created using a special brush, same with the falling leaves.
