Repeatedly, when I find myself doing exercises, which by the way, I do at least three times a week, I usually feel some discomfort or pain, especially when I do abs, is an area that as one becomes an adult is complicated to keep in shape, for hormonal issues, according to what I've read, there is a tendency to accumulate fat in the abdominal area in men, in women the same thing happens, but in other areas of the body.
But, performing several series of sit-ups can produce a pain in the area, but I was wondering how normal is that, so I set out to study the origin of the pain in this case, and I realized some things that I did not know, maybe someone who has medical knowledge, could understand and explain it better, but for my part I can say, in a simplified way that it has to do with a process of glucose metabolism.
When we say metabolism, we talk about very complicated chemical processes, but the point is that there comes a time at the muscle level, which needs energy to continue functioning, and when glucose runs out, it reproduces it in a way that does not need oxygen, which is known as anaerobic, and ends up generating a substance called lactic acid, this is the component that generates pain when it accumulates in the muscle, which can remain even for days, while it is purified.
It is interesting to know this, because it allowed me to realize how important it could be to consume some carbohydrates before exercising, or after, I also understood why some who exercise for muscle development purposes consume creatine before exercise, everything is explained at a biochemical level, which is not really something I know, but it is still interesting to me.
I wanted to share these recent discoveries, perhaps they are known to some, but in my particular, it is something new, and I found it very illustrative and enlightening.
