With over 40 Hive SBI in the prize pool, this might be our juiciest one yet.
Your challenge is to write a character backstory for the fantasy worldbuilding project Sitka World. The format of the backstory is flexible—it can be prose, an organized list, a more formal character sheet… whatever you’d like.

†NFT Whitelisting: Only 1,111 of Sitka World’s Act One NFTs will ever be minted, and only one per wallet. You will need a whitelist privilege in order to be able to mint one, and winning this contest will grant you that!
‡Canonization: this means your character will actually end up in the novel, in some way shape or form! The author herself will have a big say in outcome of this contest 😮
Sitka World is a web3 fantasy worldbuilding experience. Scholar & Scribe has partnered with them to bring more writing opportunities to Hive and to expose writers to the Sitka World project.
The story of Sitka World will be released across three Books, with three Acts each. These will be in NFT form and offer holders shares in any royalties earned from sales (web3 or otherwise!)
Initiate role. This will give you a nice taste of the story right away!
Use these resources to get a little more familiar with the lore and the vibe of Sitka World. The Discord is an especially rich place to find nuggets of story elements and ideas.
Remember: the judges will be mostly looking at the character depth and how well it fits into Sitka World’s story. We will not be judging writing quality or grammar to any significant degree! So let the creativity flow (while learning about this awesome new project!)
