Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used lower mana monsters.
This ruleset is interesting because each monster has the same health. I don't consider the knockout ability that useful, so that isn't a huge factor in this fight because I haven't seen any in Frontier.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marlai Singariel | 6 | Summoner | +1 Magic |
| Asel Alagosdil | 4 | 1st | Divine Shield |
| Lunaki Howler | 7 | 2nd | |
| Saltwater Mage | 8 | 3rd | Sneak |
| Mystic Scaleweaver | 9 | 4th | Slow |
| Grand Consul Minion | 4 | 5th | |
| Total Mana: | 38 |
My summoner is Marlai Singariel for the +1 magic. My tank is Asel Alagosdil with divine shield. After that are my magic monsters followed by a single ranged monster
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while I deal as much damage as possible. I decided to use a few low mana monsters to take advantage of that rebirth ability. When they die, they come back to life. The magic monsters are my main damage dealers.
At first glance, I think that this match is to my advantage. My opponent has a level advantage, and his tank has shield, but I am using magic monsters. My opponent is focusing on magic monsters, but I have more magic damage due to my archon, and I have one extra monster over my opponent.
A few rounds later, my opponent is left down to 1 monster while I still have 4. I can't miss with magic monsters, so this match is my win.
I won that match later that round.
The battle this time went exactly as planned. I used lower mana monsters because of that Born Again ruleset. Also, I had magic monsters to do damage through my opponent's armor. This allowed me to wipe out my opponent without too many issues.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
