New contest - Patchwork: Forro para teléfono. || Lining for telephone.

▪️ Retazos de tela, hilo y aguja, hoja de papel, lápiz, regla geométrica, marcador, tijeras, aro metálico.

Fabric scraps, thread and needle, sheet of paper, pencil, geometric ruler, marker, scissors, metal hoop.

Primer paso: || First step:

▪️ Es necesario crear un patrón en papel con las medidas del teléfono para el cual será el forro, en mi caso las medidas eran 17 cm x 9 cm, sin embargo agregué 1 cm extra tomando en consideración las costuras que iba a realizar.

It is necessary to create a pattern on paper with the measurements of the phone for which it will be the lining, in my case the measurements were 17 cm x 9 cm, however I added 1 cm extra taking into consideration the seams that I was going to make.

Segundo paso: || Second step:

▪️ Se dividí a la mitad el rectángulo considerando las medidas es decir; se trazara una línea a mitad de los 10 cm y se formará una cruz para dividir en 4 partes iguales el rectángulo.

The rectangle is divided in half considering the measurements, i.e., a line is drawn in the middle of the 10 cm and a cross is formed to divide the rectangle into 4 equal parts.

Tercer paso: || Third step:

▪️ Recorté una de las cuatro piezas trazadas esta será la referencia para el patchwork, es un proceso tedioso pero se obtienen medidas exactas para la costura.

I cut out one of the four traced pieces this will be the reference for the patchwork, it is a tedious process but you get exact measurements for the sewing.

Cuarto paso: || Fourth step:

▪️ Escogí 3 retazos de tela, 2 en tonos azules y 1 marrón, tomé el patrón y tracé en las telas varios rectángulos, fueron en total 4 piezas por lado. (Dato importante, recuerden planchar los retazos antes de trazar y cortar).

I chose 3 pieces of fabric, 2 in shades of blue and 1 in brown, took the pattern and traced several rectangles on the fabrics, a total of 4 pieces per side. (Important fact, remember to iron the pieces before tracing and cutting).

Quinto paso: || Fifth step:

▪️ Para unir las piezas cosí primero 2 y luego otras 2 como se ve en la imagen.

To join the pieces I first sewed 2 and then another 2 as shown in the image.

Sexto paso: || Sixth step:

▪️ Cree la parte frontal uniendo las 2 piezas anteriores, se debe planchar nuevamente. Repitan el proceso con los otros rectángulos.

Create the front part by joining the 2 previous pieces, it should be ironed again. Repeat the process with the other rectangles.

Séptimo paso: || Seventh step:

▪️ Uní la pieza frontal y la trasera cosiendo por todo el borde, por ello es necesario al tomar las medidas sumar 1 cm más, deben dejar uno de los lados sin coser para poder dar vuelta al forro.

I joined the front and back pieces by sewing all around the edge, so it is necessary to add 1 cm more when taking the measurements, you must leave one of the sides unstitched to be able to turn the lining.

Octavo paso: || Eighth step:

▪️ Di vuelta al forro, luego procedí a coser la orilla de la abertura para obtener un acabado más prolijo.

I turned the lining inside out, then proceeded to sew the edge of the opening for a neater finish.

Noveno paso: || Ninth step:

▪️ Este paso es complemente opcional al tener el bolso ya obtienen su forro, pero si quieren pueden crear una agarradera, para ello doblé tiras de tela azul, les pasé la plancha y las uní al aro metálico reconozco que para este paso use silicón pero el hilo se me había acabado por ello ven diferentes tonos de hilo usé todo lo que quedaba en casa.

This step is completely optional since the bag already has its lining, but if you want you can create a handle, for this I folded strips of blue fabric, ironed them and attached them to the metal ring, I admit that for this step I used silicone but I had run out of thread so I used all the thread I had left at home.

Décimo paso: || Tenth step:

▪️ Uní las piezas al forro y con ello la creación queda terminada.

I attached the pieces to the lining and the creation is finished.
