So, I am a girl. I don't think that comes as a surprise to y'all. But when I tell people I'm into cryptocurrencies, I constantly get told something along the lines of:
And then they'll actually hear me speak intelligently about crypto, and I get this:
Take my best friend's boyfriend, for example, who is big into crypto. She mentioned I had some interest, and he said oh, that's adorable. Then he tries to explain the BCC fork to me like I'm an idiot and is legitimately surprised that I was well aware of that.
It's not a secret that crypto-enthusiasts tend to be male, but why is it such a surprise that I, a female, know a good deal about it, too?
Has anyone else encountered this?
