Stress and laziness are an absolutely terrible combination. I blame it for two of my three dining out experiences this past week. Normally I don’t eat out very often, but this last week was a doozy!

I would just write about one of them, but even though I had Market Friday in mind when I visited each of these dining establishments, I didn’t get a full set of pictures at any of them! So consider this a montage.

The first one is one of my favorite places for lunch. It is a middle eastern cafe called Naf Naf Grill. You can select from yummy entrees like grilled chicken and falafel, with many different sides like hummus, baba ganoush, rice, cucumber salad and cabbage salad.

It was Saturday afternoon and I was out doing errands. After I ordered my lunch, I sat down and had a very enjoyable meal overlooking a pond.

The food was terrific. It was too much, especially with the pita bread! But guess what. It was so good that I ate every bite.

I wasn’t comfortable taking too many pictures in the restaurant itself because it was a slow afternoon and I felt too conspicuous with the staff just hanging around behind the service counter. But I did take a few pictures of the decor.

And one of the outside…

That’s it for Naf Naf!

The next one was last night. My son and I were out and about and he was super hungry and I was exhausted and stressed from a really crazy work day. So we went to a place called Duke’s which is not far from our house.

This is a really fun place. It has been several other restaurants before, so I hope this one sticks! The gutted the place when they remodeled and expanded the bar — making it about 5 times the previous size. Same with the patio. And they designed it so they can enclose and heat the patio in the winter, which is a fun experience. And in addition to all of that they added live music and made the patio dog friendly.

So many great additions! It’s quite a popular as a result.

We had a nice table by the fire. My son had boneless ribs and fries, and I had a Thai shrimp salad.

Here you can get a glimpse of the bar, but it’s just one corner of it.

And the third restaurant this week was actually tonight. (Well, it’s after midnight now, but it’s still Friday for me because I haven’t gone to bed yet!)

My husband and I went out to dinner with his brother and sister-in-law to celebrate her birthday. We were at a really nice supper club restaurant, called Birches, which is right on a lake. It was great because it was still light out when we arrived and we could see some colorful autumn trees on the other side of the lake.

Would you believe I forgot to take a picture of my food? I had a terrific scallops dish in a light sauce. To make up for the fact that I neglected to take a picture, I borrowed this one from Pixabay!

The dessert we ordered was completely crazy!

Okay here are a few more picture of the restaurant, plus one of me with my sister-in-law.
