I’m late again with my market Friday post, but I figure it counts because the evening out I’m going to write about was on Friday night. I don’t know about you, but my Friday’s are generally very busy, so that pushes my Market Friday post to Saturday.
We had a friend in town, and it was fun to entertain. Our evening actually started with happy hour on our front porch. It was a beautiful but very warm evening. But we always seem to have a nice breeze on the porch. (Maybe this relates to Market Friday because I bought the beer and snacks? 😁)
After that we went to one of our favorite local microbreweries, called Unmapped.
It is a lovely place. It is family and dog friendly and is a very popular local hangout. There are some games to play, and people bring their own games as well.
I like the look of the place. Very simple and a bit rustic.
They do not serve food there, but there are some great little restaurants nearby. We picked up a selection of empanadas at a little place just around the corner that probably would not have survived Covid if it hadn’t been for this brewery.
And we got two flights to share, which gave us a nice little selection.
I wish I had gotten a picture of all the numbers chalked onto our little carrying boards, so I could connect the list to the picture. But I do remember that we had the following:
1: No Trace - American IPA
2: Cosmic Tiara - Pale Ale
4: Topo - Belgian White Ale
5: Purgatory Pils - Czech pilsner
7: Pineapple Tangerine Sour Eclipse
8: Hazy One More Time - Hazy IPA
12: Saison Amelie - Petite Saison with Honey
15: Partners in Wheat Wine
It was really nice to sit out on the patio and talk and eat and people-watch!
Something funny happened when I stopped over to the ladies room. A woman came in with something in her hands and was struggling to get a paper towel. I asked if she needed help and she showed me what she had — a tiny bird that had fallen from a nest. She wasn’t able to find the nest so she was determined to rescue the little thing!
When we left it was nearly dark. The patio lights were on and the place had a warm and cozy feel.
That’s it for my Market Friday post. Be sure to check out the community and the #marketfriday tag, and get to know the fabulous host of Market Friday, @dswigle!
Thank you for visiting!
