It really was a great day, and not just because I got to use the new leaf blower I got for my birthday! (And yes, it’s what I asked for. 😁)
The day started off with a really nice hike around the dog park. It was a little chilly but at 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7 Celsius), it was a huge improvement over the freezing temperatures of last week.
The leaves are all brown now, but it’s still beautiful to me. The muted tones are actually somewhat elegant, aren’t they?
I made Zoey pose for me. I love the stand of birch trees in the background, and often find myself taking pictures of it.
I also got to go visit my good friend Brenda, who had a booth at a craft fair with all the wonderful things she makes.
And finally, after a few errands, I went back home to tackle my leaf situation, which involved leaf blowing, raking, bagging, and hauling the bags to the woods to dump them. And that is how I got over 20k steps today!
I know it sounds labor intensive to haul them to the woods, but otherwise I have to load them in my van to haul them. And it would take multiple trips. I have a big property with a ridiculous number of big trees.
Here you can get an idea of what I’m up against. I still need to the section that goes to the tree with the rake leaning against it.
It is going to take a few sessions. Look -- here's the backyard. I didn't even get to it today!
I also did some laundry and cooking. I'm going to sleep well tonight!
