Summer is pretty well winding down. But September tends to be really lovely here, so the farmer’s markets and concert-in-the-park events linger a few weeks after the last of the official summer months.
Here’s a photo-essay of an outdoor concert I went to after work.
Even though I absolutely needed to be reading and editing tonight, I couldn’t resist the invitation of friends to meet them down by the lake for a concert. So not only did I not work on writing or editing, but I also didn’t walk or work out. All my steps today were office steps and walking around the park.
These are really fun events. You just bring a lawn chair, find a spot, and sit and enjoy free music with your friends. Very often there are food trucks so you can buy food and drink. I packed some cheese and crackers and apples. So I didn’t need to buy anything.
This particular event was at a park on the lake and a lot of boaters came to enjoy the music along with those of us on the green.
What a gorgeous night!
The sun finally set and everyone was enjoying the music so much that they crowded around the band shell.
We joined them for a while then returned to our chairs out on the green. Eventually the music ended and everyone packed up to go home. Except us! We were having so much fun talking and laughing, and the evening was so beautiful and peaceful that we stayed on.
I love the glow of the boats and ferries on the lake.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
