Hola, soy Jaime Arriojas, de Caracas, Venezuela. Soy ilustrador y diseñador gráfico. Vivo en Caracas, aunque por seis años estuve viviendo en Bogotá, Colombia. Desde pequeño me he sentido siempre intrigado por las artes gráficas, y como que nunca me pregunté qué quería estudiar, sino que siempre vi que en este mundo de lo gráfico quería invertir mi tiempo.
Well, my best childhood memory is a day that I was watching Art Attack after school. It was a bomb at the time that program, I loved it. At that time there was no Instagram or Pinterest, much less DeviantArt or ArtStation, haha. I was captivated by watching Ruiz Torres (the actor of the program at that time) creating any number of objects and works with homemade materials. That night I decided to replicate a crocodile that he had made in the program. It was really good, I spent that night assembling the structure to let it dry and the next day at school I could not stop thinking about arriving to start painting it. When I arrived, time passed very quickly, I did not manage to finish painting the whole body of the sculpture that I had assembled. After dinner they asked me to leave it and that I could continue with that the next day, but I could not. I waited for everyone to fall asleep and escaped from the room to finish painting it until about 3 a.m. I remember that I left a note where it said that I wanted to be an artist. (My skin bristles every time I remember this).
Bueno, mi mejor recuerdo de la infancia es un día que estuve viendo Art Attack después del colegio. Era una bomba en su momento dicho programa, me encantaba. En ese entonces no existía ni Instagram ni Pinterest, mucho menos DeviantArt o ArtStation, jaja. Me atrapaba viendo a Ruiz Torres (el actor del programa en ese momento) creando cualquier cantidad de objetos y obras con materiales caseros. Esa noche decidí replicar un cocodrilo que había hecho en el programa. Fue realmente bueno, pasé esa noche armando la estructura para dejarlo secar y al día siguiente en el colegio no podía dejar de pensar en llegar para empezar a pintarlo. Cuando llegué se me pasó muy rápido el tiempo, no logré terminar de pintar todo el cuerpo de la escultura que había armado. Después de la cena me pidieron que lo dejara y que podía seguir con eso al día siguiente, pero no pude. Esperé que todos se durmieran y me escapé del cuarto para terminar de pintarlo como hasta las 3 a.m. Recuerdo que dejé una nota donde decía que yo quería ser un artista. (Se me eriza la piel cada vez que recuerdo esto).
I have done many things to not go hungry in reality, because in Latin America these talents that I have developed throughout my life are not very well appreciated. There is little work field and you really have to stand out, and today I feel that I still have a lot to learn to be able to stand out. Although the environment has not been the desired one, I remain in my beliefs of dedicating my time and effort to what I really enjoy doing
He hecho muchas cosas para no pasar hambre en realidad, pues en Latinoamérica no son muy bien apreciados estos talentos que he desarrollado a lo largo de mi vida. Hay poco campo laboral y realmente tienes que destacar, y al día de hoy siento que aún me falta mucho por aprender para poder destacar. Aunque el entorno no ha sido el deseado, me mantengo en mis creencias de dedicar mi tiempo y esfuerzo a lo que realmente disfruto haciendo.
I do not intend to extend myself more than necessary. I consider myself someone creative and still with a lot to grow and experiment. I currently dedicate myself to design and illustration, both digital and analog. I spend my free time training as a tattoo artist. I hope you like my content and what I have to contribute. I hope to grow in this community, contribute to the inspiration of many and also feel inspired by the work of others. As Kant said at the time: “Sapere Aude”. Whoever started already has half done: dare to learn.
No pretendo extenderme más de la cuenta. Me considero alguien creativo y aún con mucho que crecer y experimentar. Actualmente me dedico al diseño y a la ilustración, tanto digital como análoga. Paso mi tiempo libre formándome como tatuador. Espero que les guste mi contenido y lo que tengo por aportar. Espero crecer en esta comunidad, aportar a la inspiración de muchos y también sentirme inspirado con el trabajo de otros. Como dijo Kant en su momento: “Sapere Aude”. Quien ya comenzó, ya tiene la mitad hecha: atrévete a aprender.
