Hello Galen, writing this post has brought a smile out of my soul, what comes to mind, at this moment, is the coincidence of having a couple of great friends that we met since we arrived in Caracas, in the 80s when we were a couple just starting a family. Carlos and J. R., worked together at the same firm.
Carlos is Geminis sign, like me, born on the same day and year. She, Jackie, is Leo sign as J. R., and also the female version of him. Some years of marriage, both couples from the interior of the country, with children, like us.
We always supported each other and accompanied each other in all the situations that came as families. We spent endless holidays together because the boys and girls were also all scouts. Together we lit fires, and blew them out to fan any embers, back in the days when going to a scout camp was the best thing that could happen to us.
That's what life is all about, just sharing moments with those wonderful people that come our way.
It has been more than 40 years of this beautiful coincidence of life, Galen, and even though they are not blood family, they are the family that comes to the door of your house to stay forever.
You just have to open up a little and skip the schemes and prejudices.
In addition to husbands, work, children, Jackie and I were coincidentally united by the same tastes for the arts, music, culture, I think our friendship is full of many anecdotes.
After this atypical coincidence, years ago, we have learned to sustain ourselves in patience, trust and faith, to strengthen ourselves in perseverance, to sow good fruits, such as our friendship.
We choose who to grow up with...
They're (ours sons) still called cousins, and we are the guys, lol. We agreed on many things without proposing. They left the country to Panama and their boys to Canada. Just like us our children, all outside the country too.
Serendipity, instinct or simple chance.
A whole story like that of many Venezuelans. Serendipity... This is a piece of writing for persons in my life, very special ❤️, because they are very special bond, the one we have until today, more than friendship, it is a brotherhood for life.
We both have family in our country and children abroad, we are still in frequent contact. We haven't visited each other yet. Jackie and I are always on the lookout when we travel, to coincide, and we've seen each other, they haven't, the rest of our families. Only by video calls and on birthdays, that Carlos and I still share together. The rest only by other social networks.
In the photo, from my look, this same sky covers us, definitely, life turned upside down, the day our families met.
