Over dinner, I had a conversation with a friend who's relatively older than me. Our topic stemmed from ranting about work, then salaries and money, travels, and so on with pleasures in life.

"If you were to receive a huge sum of money, what will you do with the money?" One of us asked.

"Im going to save and invest 70% of the money, while 30% will go to travels and new experiences." I said.

My friend was quite amazed and even commented that people's attitude really vary when it comes to finances. Some people want material things like iPhone.

As for me, my goal is simple- to live a good life.

But what does that mean?

It means I can have my own freedom; to work whenever I want; and with whatever it is I want to pursue.

I want to experience life not at its grandest but in its simplest state. One where I can afford to wake up on slow mornings, go on grocery shopping, eat delicious meals, and and spend time with the people I love most.

From time to time, I enjoy shopping new clothes and other material things. But when my closet is already too full and my storage is overflowing, I realize that these things aren't really giving me genuine happiness. So I cut out buying things online or even at the malls. Im proud to say that I can control my splurges really well.

On the contrary, I spend alot on food and new experiences. Take for example, hiking on mountains, joining fun runs, or buying a really good badminton racket- all these still requires money.

So in conclusion, to live a simple life means to live a life worth living. Each of us might have a different interpretation of what this means but the goal is the same- to be happy.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
