Happy weekend, Hivers! I hope you are all doing well. Life update, your girl is now officially in her hiker era! My first hiking experience was in Banawa heights (See: Hiking Adventure To See The Sunrise) and in an instant, i fell in love with the mountains. So here i am preparing for my next adventure.
The first store i visited is Decathlon, the largest sports gear outlet in our city that offers quality outdoor gears for hiking, trekking, camping, swimming, surfing, and many more. This huge store is quite popular not only because of its variety of sports gear selection but also for its reasonable price.
Upon entering the store, I went straight to the hiking section and window shopped. I was so tempted to splurge on new outfits because of all these cute selections. But as practical as I am, i contemplated first before buying the items.
On top of my things-to-buy list is hiking shoes because i notice that during my first hike, my legs and feet were in so much pressure due to wearing the wrong shoe. I hopped into other stores to check other options. Since Sketchers is just nearby, I checked their shoes as well.
Unfortunately, most of their selections are for casual or running shoes and only a few for hiking. So I searched for other stores. I was about to go back to Decathlon to settle for whatever hiking shoes they have when I remembered my friend suggested Merrel for hiking shoes so I went there instead. Unlike Decathlon and Sketchers, this brand is quite unknown to my ears.
As I later found out, they specialized shoes for hiking and trekking. The soles of their shoes are truly different, more grippy and spikey. For the price, it is comparable to Nike and Addidas, quite in the pricey side of the spectrum but i can tell that i can get value for my money on this purchase. So the deal is sealed!
I went home feeling so excited for my upcoming hiking escapade with my new shoes.
