When Undertale first came out, and I saw the genocide route (Admittedly, I couldn't bring myself to do it... though I did beat Undyne. However, one of my ideas during genocide was Sans reminiscing over Papyrus's ash, wearing his scarf. It was actually sorta amusing, Undertale came out in 2015, I drew the original sketch in 2016, and completed it in 2017!
My favourite part is actually the scarf and Sans eyes. The shading is just so neat! And the way the eyes glow just makes me so happy! The effect is super neat! I also wanted to add a background to add more depth to the image! I didn't want anything too complex to draw away from the main scene, so I didn't add too much lineart or shading.
It's one of those images that I find simple is best. Not only to work with the style but to add to the image.
