Yesterday I showed you my new Rain Gauge. Now see it today FULL of rain!
What???
I put this in my plant yesterday and yesterday evening it began to rain. Off and on all night it rained and this morning it rained....and rained some more.
When I first got up I looked out the back door, I thought it was only 2 or 3 inches in it. I made a plan to put my shoes on at breaktime and go out to look close up and take a photo of my new gauge with rain in it.
Breaktime came and before I went out I looked out the door and.... wait, is that gauge full? Certainly my eyes were deceiving me. So I put on my shoes and rain jacket and went out and sure enough, it was FULL! I could not believe it and yet I was still seeing it.
The gauge is marked up to 7 inches, but you can't see the 7 because it is under the metal holder. As you can see though, there is still space at the top, so at least another inch. That means between yesterday evening and mid morning, it rained at least 8 inches here and maybe more if it ran over before I went out.
I took photos and emptied it so I can see if we get more. It has been mostly cloudy today, so more is a possibility.
Maybe it's like Field Of Dreams... if you build it they will come only, if you put out a Rain Gauge, rain will come.
