At the next sunset, I returned to the ranch house to find Abigail and Uncle watching the horizon. Suspecting Uncle's presence was causing strain, I antagonized the old man until he walked away. However, Abigail remained distant and irritated, leaving me planning to head out off the ranch the following morning.
As the sun began to set over Beecher's Hope, I walked toward the main house and found Abigail and Uncle standing outside together, watching the horizon.
Suspicious of the old man's constant presence around my family, I approached them to talk about Jack's recent behavior while Uncle sat nearby on the porch.
Uncomfortable with how close he was staying to my wife, I began antagonizing Uncle directly, asking him what his problem was. Uncle snapped back that I was embarrassing myself, but I kept pushing him, determined to make it clear that he needed to keep his distance from Abigail.
After I continued to press him, Uncle finally took the hint, got up, and walked away toward the side of the ranch house.
However, the tension did not clear once he left. Abigail immediately turned her frustration toward me, asking why I was carrying on like that. Despite completing all the daily chores around the ranch as she had asked, her cold behavior toward me continued.
I stepped closer to try and smooth things over, but Uncle quietly wandered back up behind us, adding to the awkward atmosphere.
Abigail gave me an irritated look, clearly annoyed by my presence. When I kept my eyes on her, she openly asked me to stop staring at her, flatly stating that she was ignoring me.
Realizing that trying to talk further would only make things worse, I stood my ground while Abigail turned around and walked away.
By now, the sun had fully set beneath the horizon, and the oil lamps positioned around the ranch yard flickered to life in the darkness. Wanting to avoid any further arguments for the rest of the evening, I decided to turn in for a quiet night, planning to ride out away from the ranch early the next morning.
Here I'm finishing the post for today, and I'll talk about more special RDR 2 gaming moments in Gaming Photography.
