Hello foodies🙃
How's life going? I hope wherever you are, you are having a good time 🌼
Recently, a baby boy has born into our extended family and to celebrate this occasion , they have decided to make a dham or lunch for everyone.
Himachal Pradesh , A beautiful northern mountainous state of India is famous for its traditions , cultures , dress , language, food and art . Dham , a local term for lunch or traditional feast prepared in himachali style and served during ceremonies like marriages , local festivities and social occasions . It is very hard to separate Himachal Pradesh and dham because dham is an integral pat of himachali traditions.
The pahari dham starts with everyone sitting on the floor and getting a plastic plate to eat food and a plastic cup to drink water. The first dish is rice which is served by boti . The boti is the one who prepares the himachali dham. All of the dishes that are served next have to be eaten with rice .
The second dish is meetha which can be made of different ingredients like pumpkin , boondi or bread . This one is bread ka meetha which contains a lot of sugar.
The next dish which we get is rajmah madra , which is made from boiled Kidney beans and the taste and aroma of this dish is mouth watering. This dish is made without onions.
The next dish which we got is kadhu ka khatta , which is made from pumpkin and the taste of this dish is sour and delicious.
The next dish which we get is mash dal or Kali dal which is made from boiled black lentils.
The mash dal which we get earlier should be eaten with kadhi which is made from curd or lassi . The combination of these two tastes is so heavenly. And sorry for the blurry photo.
These are the basic dishes which are always in dham , there are also other dishes but I will tell about them some other time . If you ever got an opportunity to taste the himachali dham , you should never miss it . That's it for today's blog. I hope you find this blog informative.
Thank you for passing by 🏔️
Sending you all a virtual hug 🤗
