La Urbanizaci贸n Los Palos Grandes ubicada en el Municipio Chacao, al este de la ciudad de Caracas constituye una de las zonas tur铆sticas, residenciales y comerciales m谩s importantes de la capital, esto a pesar de que su extensi贸n territorial apenas supera el kil贸metro cuadrado, pero es que en esas cuadras podemos disfrutar de espacios realmente interesantes, lugares que son una joya gastron贸mica, una maravilla arquitect贸nica y destinos profundamente tur铆sticos. Caracas es una ciudad que le brinda a propios y visitantes numerosos espacios p煤blicos, en donde las plazas tienen un protagonismo 煤nico yendo desde los dise帽os m谩s cl谩sicos, hasta los m谩s futuristas, es as铆 como llegamos a un punto intermedio en esta escala, para detenernos en un lugar que se caracteriza por su belleza, funcionalidad y sencillez, hablamos de nada m谩s y nada menos que de la plaza los Palos Grandes, el icono indiscutible de esta zona y el punto de encuentro ideal para disfrutar del sano esparcimiento y momentos llenos de alegr铆as.
The Plaza Los Palos Grandes arises from the need to rearrange this sector, since this plot located between Tercera Transversal and Segunda Avenida in a really chaotic space, dominated by neglect, abandonment and indolence, is how by mid-2008 it was decided to build a space that would provide this entire community an area suitable for recreation, but at the same time was perfectly functional, this would be achieved by including an underground parking and various areas for multiple uses.
La Plaza Los Palos Grandes surge de la necesidad de reordenar un poco este sector, ya que esa parcela ubicada entre la Tercera Transversal y la Segunda Avenida en un espacio realmente ca贸tico, dominado por la desidia, el abandono y la indolencia, es as铆 como para mediados del a帽o 2008 se decide construir un espacio que permitiera brindarle a toda esta comunidad un 谩rea adecuada para el esparcimiento, pero que al mismo tiempo fuera perfectamente funcional, esto se lograr铆a incluyendo un estacionamiento subterr谩neo y diversas 谩reas para usos m煤ltiples.
In Caracas this space has an unusual design, since as we can see in the images it is a corner plaza, which means that we find an area where the north and west facades are perfectly delineated by buildings, while the south and east sides are bordered by two one-way streets, allowing these areas to be the natural access points to the entire complex.
En Caracas este espacio tiene un dise帽o poco com煤n, ya que como nos podemos dar cuenta en las im谩genes se trata de una plaza que hace esquina, lo que significa que nos encontramos con un 谩rea en donde la fachada norte y oeste est谩n perfectamente delineadas por edificaciones, mientras que los lados sur y este est谩n bordeados por dos calles de un solo sentido, permitiendo que sean estas 谩reas los puntos de acceso natural a todo el complejo.
This is a square where the natural elements are the undisputed protagonists, since the presence of a large mirror of water, combined with a platform of small jets that constitute a pedestrian fountain and at the same time we can observe that on the east side we find beautiful gardens crowned by large trees, which provide natural shade to a series of small benches strategically located, it is here where the presence of the wind is very important, since with its constant flow the trees are kept in a serene movement, giving us nice scents and a totally relaxing sound. At the same time the sun manages to heat up quite intensely, but thanks to the water and the wind this is a space that remains cool and pleasant at all times, it is an area where there is no stress, no hurry and no problems, it is one of the many small oasis that this beautiful city has.
Esta es una plaza en donde los elementos naturales son los protagonistas indiscutibles, puesto que la presencia de un gran espejo de agua, se combina con una plataforma de peque帽os chorros que constituyen una fuente peatonal y al mismo tiempo podemos observar que del lado este encontramos con lindos jardines coronados por grandes 谩rboles, los cuales brindan sombra natural a una serie de peque帽as bancas estrat茅gicamente ubicadas, es ac谩 en donde la presencia del viento es muy importante, ya que con su flujo constante los 谩rboles se mantienen en un sereno movimiento, regal谩ndonos lindos aromas y un sonido totalmente relajante. Al mismo tiempo el sol logra calentar con bastante intensidad, pero gracias al agua y al viento este es un espacio que en todo momento se mantiene fresco y agradable, se trata de un 谩rea en donde no existe el estr茅s, el apuro y los problemas, es uno de los tantos peque帽os oasis con los que cuenta esta hermosa ciudad.
One of the most striking features of this place is that structure located on the west facade of reinforced concrete and rectangular in shape, which in its central upper part is crowned with a very elegant analogue clock, no doubt it is a landmark, This element also gives a unique personality to this space, allowing to enhance its importance and at the same time giving it an imposing touch, which makes the difference with the rest of the public spaces of the city of Caracas.
Una de las caracter铆sticas m谩s llamativas de este lugar es esa estructura ubicada en la fachada oeste de concreto armado y de forma rectangular, la cual en su parte superior central es coronada con un muy elegante reloj anal贸gico, sin duda alguna se trata de un hito, el cual con una peque帽a escalinata y un ascensor nos regala un peque帽o mirador desde donde se puede observar toda la plaza desde lo alto, adem谩s este elemento le da una personalidad 煤nica a todo este espacio, permitiendo realzar su importancia y al mismo tiempo brind谩ndole un toque imponente, lo cual marca la diferencia con el resto de espacios p煤blicos de la ciudad de Caracas.
This complex is completed with the construction of a library, which gives visitors the opportunity to delve into the world of knowledge, but at the same time offers other services such as a cafe and service areas, we can also see that the square has several large roofed structures, whose idea is that this space is fully functional even on days where the solar incidence is much stronger, we also have small stands from which you can enjoy cultural events, concerts and many other activities.
Este complejo se ve finalizado con la construcci贸n de una biblioteca, que le brinda a los visitantes la oportunidad de adentrarse en el mundo del conocimiento, pero al mismo tiempo ofrece otros servicios como los de un cafet铆n y 谩reas de servicios, tambi茅n podemos observar que la plaza cuenta con diversas estructuras techadas de gran tama帽o, cuya idea es que este espacio sea totalmente funcional Incluso en los d铆as en donde la incidencia solar es mucho m谩s fuerte, adem谩s tambi茅n contamos con peque帽as gradas desde las cuales se pueden disfrutar de eventos culturales, conciertos y muchas otras actividades.

Tener la oportunidad de recorrer los espacios de esta maravillosa Plaza ha sido una de las experiencias m谩s interesantes y lindas que he podido tener, ya que se trata de un espacio totalmente dise帽ado para satisfacer las necesidades reales del pueblo, al mismo tiempo es un 谩rea que combina los elementos naturales, el arte y la arquitectura, generando soluciones para la comunidad y al mismo tiempo aport谩ndole a la ciudad un nuevo lugar tur铆stico, el cual se caracteriza por su tranquilidad, ambiente fresco y sencillez. Llegar a este punto es bastante sencillo, puedes usar una ruta de transporte p煤blico descender en la estaci贸n Miranda de la l铆nea 1 del sistema metro de Caracas, para luego subir caminando un par de cuadras, cualquiera que sea la opci贸n que escojas, estoy seguro de que disfrutar谩s del recorrido y de tu estancia en este m谩gico lugar, as铆 que no lo dudes ven y conoce este peque帽o rinc贸n enclavado al este de la ciudad de Caracas.
