Hello Foodies, I am writing unsolicited reviews for the Review the World community. I hope to write reviews for all the sites that interface with the HIVE blockchain. My fourth review is for FoodiesBeeHive.
If I am going to post on #FOODIES I should start by saying something about food.
I am not much of a cook. I tend to eat the least expensive food that I can find at the store. By cheap I mean the best nutrition for the lowest price.
Rather than mangling a recipé (I don't use recipés as that would involve buying specific ingredients) I will simply mention that during the hot summer months I move my cooking outdoors. Cooking outdoors means that I don't have to run the air conditioner.
Did I mention that I am really cheap?
I bought a NuWave Cooktop and Instant Pot so (pictured below) that I could cook outdoors. Because I've been cooking outdoors, I managed to make it to June 19th before having to turn on the air conditioner.
Another greater thing about these portable appliances is that I can use them at picnic areas and campgrounds that have electric plug ins.
The Instant Pot is a self contained pressure cooker. They are safer to use than the traditional stove top pressure cooker.
The NuWave stove top is an induction burner. Induction cookers create a magnetic field that will heat conductive pans (aka steel).
My experience is that induction gets the bottom of the pan quite hot; So, I have to stir things up to evenly distribute the heat.
Of course my favorite method of cooking involves my rocket stove. A rocket stove allows me to cook with sticks, twigs and other biomass. Since I am cooking with materials that would biodegrade in the near future, ecologists consider rocket stoves to be carbon neutral.
The second image shows a flame running through my StoveTec Rocket Stove.
The challenge of a Rocket Stove is that the pans get covered with soot. I have a wok and a dutch oven dedicated to outdoor cooking. The final picture for this post shows me cooking with a wok on my rocket stove.
BTW, a wok is a round bottomed cooking vessel. A flat bottom vessel with steep sides is called a saucier. Most stores in the US confuse the two things.
Back to the Unsolicited Review
But let get back to my review.
Foodies BeeHive has an interesting selection of recipes with photos from around the world. The site does not have a good index; so it is hard to find the recipes.
However, Foodies stands out from other tribes as it appears to have posts that the world at large would enjoy accessing.
Most of the posts (with the exception of this post) seem to be on target. I suspect that the group has some active HiveWatchers who actively downvote spammy posts.
Please don't downvote me. This is a review of FoodiesUnite.net. It is loosely related to the tribe.
Looking at the FOODIE Richlist, I believe that the strongest feature of the tribe is that staked holdings are fairly well distributed. There's a dozen accounts with over a 100,000 coins. Sorting the richlist by staked coins, one sees that FOODIE has a strong middle class (accounts with between a thousand and ten thousand coins).
Because the staking is well distributed, the rewards for the posts are better distributed. Quite frankly, I think Foodies Beehive stands out as the best focused HIVE Tribe. I am surprised that the coin is trading at just 0.032.
My goal is to write a review a day for all of the sites interfacing with HIVE. Here is the Foodies BeeHive Review. My hope is that off site reviews will bring some traffic to HIVE and the many sites connected to this blockchain.
Please drop comments about the review below. I will be heading outside to cook dinner as it is too hot to cook indoors.
