🌸Inventario emocional🌸

@hiramdo.

Unraveling the past to heal the present
🌸Emotional Inventory🌸
A greeting to this community @Holos-Lotus, it is a pleasure to be a Columnist for a day and to see how friends welcome the proposed topics. I already had the experience of those who preceded me and especially of the initiatives in Las Cosas de Iris, which were excellently received.
⚘
It is not easy to bare one's soul. Writing about pleasurable emotions is an act of catharsis, but it is not when we must dig deep to bring to the surface a memory that once upset us. This process of introspection, of making an Emotional Inventory, is precisely the challenge that many hivers have bravely accepted, sharing their own struggles and vulnerabilities.
Despite the situations of separation from my parents, I could never harbor resentment towards them. I always admired the courage and determination of my mother who, in an attempt to be free, took on the role of both father and mother and pulled us through with a strength that, even today, amazes me. Her strength is an example for many women who are not happy under the shelter of a man just for economic protection.
I find this same strength in accounts like those of @maylink or
@lilianajimenez, who explore how recognizing our emotions is the first step to moving forward.
I also understood my father's pain. Ignorant and already old, he had to start a new life when he believed we would be his vindication. Perhaps if we had had the constant companionship of a father, our life would have had fewer material lacks, but perhaps also more emotional conflicts. Who knows?.
Fate takes care of planning what will become of our lives because, in matters of projects, nature is wise. This acceptance of the inevitable and the complexity of family ties is a topic that @elpastor addresses in depth, reflecting on the burden and liberation that comes with understanding our place in the family.
Of all the memories I hold of my father, one caused me a lot of anxiety. I always believed the trigger for my hyperhidrosis had been that ordinary day when I was five years old, when my brother pushed me and, upon hurting my knees on the ground, my screams woke my father who was taking a nap.
For years, the deafening sound of cicadas brought back the memory of the punishment that made me sweat for the first time in my life, at least the first time I remember. But I am an adult now and sufficiently aware to know that in that instant different circumstances were at play: his ignorance, the unconditional hierarchy, plus a very determining ethic regarding love between siblings.
The idea of a specific event triggering a lifelong condition is powerful, similar to the metaphor of "emotional backpacks" where @charjaim argues the importance of letting go of that heavy baggage to move forward freely.
In other texts I have tried to describe my father; evidently, he had a condition of schizophrenia that was very easy to trigger. But my hyperhidrosis condition was triggered by the anxiety of the moment; that would have happened at any other time because it also depends on a physical condition.
I no longer have mixed feelings about that incident; my mother, like a balm, prevented a greater punishment and, by taking us away from him, she was ensuring we would not suffer similar situations again where she could not have control. This protective figure of a mother who guides us is an archetype that @graciadegenios analyzes: how authority figures can harm or heal.
Taking inventory of emotions is not an easy exercise. It is like carefully peeling the sepia photographs off the glass and cleaning them at the risk of lifting a fragment of that beloved image. It is a delicate process that requires courage, very similar to what @tiolucioviajero shows in "Desnudo...", where they expose themselves unfiltered to the reader.
Therefore, I do not question that some could not or did not want to do it, just as I applaud the twenty-four texts presented in this initiative, each one a unique universe of feelings and experiences. Texts like those of @psicologopoeta or
@vladimirmf, show that although the paths may be different, the destination is the same: the search for inner peace through understanding and expressing what we carry inside.
At the end of this introspective journey, both personal and collective through the words of others, it is clear that an emotional inventory is much more than a list of feelings. It is an act of putting fresh water to the soul, unearthing fragments of our past.
By sharing our vulnerabilities, we not only free ourselves from the weight of yesterday, but we also build a bridge of empathy towards others, creating a collective mosaic of resilience and hope.
True healing comes when we can analyze the issue without resentment, remember with a new understanding, transforming our wounds into sources of strength and our stories into a beacon for others who undertake the same path of taking inventory, as @yuraimatc and
@hiramdo did.
