This time, a seemingly random collection of photos. But only at first glance. As the title suggests, they have one thing in common: I took them all at night. Of course, the time of day limited my options to stationary subjects, preferably in well-lit areas—namely, at train stations.
Photos are listed by date taken.
First up: Katowice, March 10, 2014. The SN83 completed its journey from Lubliniec via Tarnowskie Góry.
Manufactured by the German company Düwag in Düsseldorf between 1981 and 1983 for the Dutch railway company Nederlandse Spoorwegen. Seven of these vehicles were delivered to Poland, and six of them are still in service today. Engine power: 2x210 kW; maximum speed: 100 km/h; seating capacity: 140+10

It’s already October 15, 2014, and we’re in Kraków. As you can see on the display, this EN63A-007A is headed to Sędziszów. As you can also see at the front of the vehicle, in addition to “EN63,” it also bears the designation “36WEa.” This is where the problem begins—there seem to be more of these type designations than there are vehicles actually produced. I don’t know how many of these three-car trains were produced, but each one is different. Those manufactured for the Podkarpackie, Silesian, and Świętokrzyskie provinces carry 150+6 seated passengers, while those for the Opole province carry 176. A common feature is the 4x400 kW motors, which provide a top speed of 160 km/h.

On November 7, 2011, we head to the other end of Poland, to Białystok. The SA133-019 is bravely getting soaked in the rain; it will soon depart for Suwałki. Here we have a similar problem with the markings. The manufacturer, PESA, designated the base vehicle as 218M, which is why carriers refer to it as SA131. The 218Ma and 218Mb variants are painted with the SA132 designation. The SA133 shown in the photo is a 218Mc, but to make things a bit more complicated, SA133 vehicles numbered 001 through 020 are equipped with MAN engines, while those numbered 021 through 024 have Voith engines. The 218Md is designated SA134, while the 218Md models numbered 021 through 024 are designated SA134 Minsk2.
Simple?
SA134-019: two 382-kW internal combustion engines, a hydraulic transmission, and a maximum design speed of 140 km/h. The operating speed is lower, at 120–130 km/h.

Tu mamy podobny problem z oznaczeniami. Producent, PESA, bazowy pojazd oznaczyła 218M, dlatego u przewoźników nazywa się SA131. Modyfikacje 218Ma i 218 Mb, mają wymalowane oznaczenia SA132.
Proste?
SA134-019, dwa silniki spalinowe po 382kW, przekładnia hydrauliczna i maksymalną prędkość konstrukcyjną 140km/h. Prędkość eksploatacyjna jest niższa, 120-130km/h.

And last but not least for today, the EN57-892. January 2, 2019, Siedlce. I’ve written about the EN57 series before.

I ostatni na dziś, EN57-892. Drugi stycznia 2019 roku, Siedlce. O serii EN57 pisałem wcześniej.

All photos were taken by me using various Nikon camera models with Nikkor, Tamron, and Sigma lenses. Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.
